i tie my tops down to the rim of the planter about 1-2 weeks before i flip to flower. my average veg time is around 6 weeks (including seedling stage) i end up with bushy 2 ft tall plants.

I dont FIM, just a personal preference.

i do the same as the brute^ tie em down a week or 2 before flower then depending on strain you might have to adjust the string a little tighter if they stretch more than expected.

i havent tried fimming or topping too much but am going to with the Kings Kush clones im about to take. ive heard its a good strain for that type of super cropping

what strain do you grow?

This most recent time I've had great success F.I.M cutting and tying down both a Seedsman White Widow and a Dinafem Blue Widow.
Once they got 5th nodes I F.I.M'd them and pretty much tied them over simultaneously. I notice an EXPLOSION in branching less than a week later!
I continue to be surprised by the new growth.

Look of the word AUXINS! This word is at the CENTER of the LST/Topping/F.I.Ming experience. If you can learn to understand how the plant grows, It'll help you in becoming a better trainer of your plants. Learn about AUXINS ASAP!
They essential direct the plants growth :joint:. Learning about the plants AUXINS will give you a better understanding of what you need to do while LSTing, rather than getting different replies as to how ppl did it! I assure you that!

With a well done LST, there's not really a need to cut the plants. It just helps in getting tops, and must be done as soon as possible(4th-5th node), but not before that.
You always wanna have time to recover before you switch to flower, so don't make any cuts just before you flip to 12/12. You're potentially harming you're final yield when you do so.

Hope that helped bro. LOOK UP AUXINS
