LST? FIMing

i got about 12 plants right now ranging from 4in to 4 1/2 ft. my biggest is two days into flowering...i have only finished two plants so im still really new at this... the two small plants (jack herer) i want to lst them i believe i started to when you look at the pics. but i looking for some tips on it... i want to try FIMing but not totally sure what it is or how to do it just herd about it... if you could please help me out take a look at my pics tell me what you think... i believe the 5th pic is blackberry and the 7th is bannana og x blue dream and the rest are jack herer.... and i got 5 new clones i just clipped any suggestions or techniques i could try on those?

FIM'ing in my opinion is pretty pointless. i topped half my plants and left the others. sooo wish i had left them all now. especially if you want to LST. its basically the same as topping you plant. instead of the main middile stem you end up with 2 or more side shoots on top. . . basically.
you should look up more or topping and "fiming" plants and see why together with LST it doesn't make sense. well to me it doesn't anyway.
 
Hey man, your doing the right thing for LST, the way I do it is by getting a piece of thick paper to make like a collar around the stem just a lil over the top of the middle and using fishing line to tie around that paper/stem so it doesn't cut into the stem then make a slit on the top outside right of my pot and use that to tie it down, but yeah your doing the right thing from what I see in the pictures. Now to FIM at the top of the stem; your flowering site, that lil bud that will form into 2 leafs ya know, well you just get scissors or a razor and cut 80% of that off leaving the bottom 20% of it and it'll form into 4 new flowering sites instead of 2 by topping it. Topping it is cutting below that lil bud which will then Y off into only 2 new sites. Theres alot of useful info on this site just gotta search and do alot of reading. But their looking good dude. I don't know man, FIMing and LST work well if your doing a SCROG grow or using a tomatoe cage, other than that then yeah I guess it is pretty pointless
 
If you are going to LST your plants wait to top them untill it has grown all the way around to the other side. What I mean is wait untill you are about a week away from being done with LSTing it. Then top all the new shoots comming from the main stem as well as the top of the plant.

And jordanian if you topped your plants and now you wish you didn't you fucked it up somehow! And also LST is nothing like Fiming! Fiming you will get 2-4 tops and LST if done right you can get 16+ tops. Also with LST you can get the light closer to your plants/tops and there isn't nearly as much lower bud sites that don't get light.

Just google it and it will lead you right back here for all your advice on this matter. I would learn how to LST if i were you and like I said top it once you are almost done with veg, let the plant recover from the topping and switch it to flower!

i didn't say lst and fim were they same thing. i said topping and FIMing is basically the same thing. and when i said i wish i hadn't i suppose i mean i did it too early. although the big main bud looks bigger than 2 side shoots on my plants just now. . .

using LST to go around your pot in a circle and then top makes more sense. i didn't know that fully at the time. :(

oh, so my point was. topping or FIMing too early is a huge waste in my eyes. unless like someone said you are SOG or something similar.
 
awesome... so if i take my 4 1/2 footer and top it or fim it now and put it into flowering in a week or so that should work?
 
I'd wait just a lil longer really to flower, its always better to let things go longer than trying to force them to do something too early, That plants gonna be MASSIVE though when its all done haha, did you start a journal? I'd really like to see how that plants progresses
 
Agreed on the plant is going to be massive bro. However i would maybe FIM it ..you already have it at 4 and a half feet is it worth the risk trying to top it? think of pros and cons.. FIM is more mess up friendly unless you already topped it lol in which case i better get a call after you harvest or better yet before you harvest . oh btw man my purple skunk should be ready to harvest maybe alittle after new years. WORST case scenario it will be harvest and completely cured by my birthday so we will have to enjoy some of that bad boy.oh and btw i hit up the hydro place down here and got my deep water culture set up and my veg nutes and root cakes and humidity dome at my pad now you should come scope it and i have extra stuff if you want to try a hydro ill hook it up just give me a call man
 
for sure ya i want to do my five new clones in hydro and ya i will have to come pick that hydro stuff up from you thanx bro... and ya im going to start a journal on it....
 
I love LSTing. There is nutin better than seeing a LSTed plant in like week 7 covered with all those colas that are covered in bud. It's like a big, wonderful, mutant, plant covered in happiness!
