Here's what them poor girls look like now...

2012-12-12_13-50-12_955.jpg2012-12-12_13-50-19_893.jpg2012-12-12_13-50-23_889.jpg2012-12-12_13-50-28_556.jpg2012-12-12_13-50-32_563.jpg2012-12-12_13-50-38_564.jpg2012-12-12_13-50-43_486.jpg2012-12-12_13-50-47_517.jpg2012-12-12_13-50-53_451.jpg2012-12-12_13-51-01_122.jpg

The average temp of the room has been 70-75 F
Humidity around 38-50%
Water temp was low 60's to 68 F
Chamber temp was 65-67 F. So I added a heater and brought temps up to 75 in the res, which has 6gal of tap water in it. This increased my chamber temp to a steady 73 F.

I gather due to the low water/chamber temps the delicate cuttings have been in a state of stasis/shock hindering root development. I also think the LumiGro even on the lowest settings and 3ft above the cuttings is still to intense and have shut it off completely. They look torched! :(

So as of today, which is just over 2 weeks since I started these girls, I have no roots.

I am going to put a fresh res in adjust PH to 5.8, clean everything and hope that the following conditions will root these girls!
Room temp: 74 F
Res Temp: 75 F
Chamber Temp: 73 F
Light Source: 200W Soft white Bulb

All will be well...

Hey Savage, nice Lumi and setup! Lotsa potential here, huh gang?
I can't speak about anything hydro, but your room temps and humidity seem too low for cloning IMHO. You've got to keep it at 45 to 50% minimum for clones. 70 to 80% is what clones like. And you'll get better results with warmer room temps too. There's a lot of clones with red stems just starving and some of the yellowing is indicating that some clones are trying to grow roots. Some yellowing though is from fighting off disease and nutritional problems that come with no roots. And can't you dial down your reds and get your blues up on that Lumi? Clones do well in blue heavy light. At least in my experience. Maybe it's time to foliar feed the clones? Could help them.
And remember, never give up on clones! No truer words have ever been spoken to me. Good Luck and Happy Growing!

Having a hard time increasing humidity in there, tried adding a wet sponge, wet rag, ect.. It seems to stay about 45%....

I have a 200W soft white bulb in there I added about a week ago originally to increase the heat cause it was running about 68 F with just the Lumi dialed down to 1's (It has dials like you stated that range from 1-10 for blue, white, red) They were happy until i tossed in that 200W bulb...so maybe they are transpiring to much because of it! But the temps here have dropped quite a bit and the room was dropping to mid 60's.

So I freaked a little and turned off the Lumi completely for now until I saw roots crack...which today I noticed the first few on some of the G13's..

As far as the disease and nute problems that makes scene to me, due to the environment I was providing...
I have a bottle of Growmore Seaweed Extract (Liquefied Organic Kelp) I thought about spritzing them with but didn't want to get to carried away ?? :wall: Maybe I should do that tomorrow morn??

Thanks for your recommendations! ;-) I will turn the Lumi back on just blues and see how they look in the morn too! Will also post pics of the few roots I spotted.

Okay, quick update...still can't get humidity where I want it :-( temp still low, around 70 through the night, ambient is 38 outside 50's in garage...

However I did see some roots starting! But not where I expected, I am wondering if I should add more misters in the chambers, currently have 2 per chamber..pain in the ass to do however and not part of the original plan...

2012-12-14_10-16-12_345.jpg2012-12-14_10-16-40_318.jpg2012-12-14_10-16-49_564.jpg2012-12-14_10-17-36_559.jpg2012-12-14_10-18-01_36.jpg2012-12-14_10-18-28_342.jpg2012-12-14_10-19-33_700.jpg2012-12-14_10-19-41_319.jpg

It would appear that the roots are starting to form in the puck (shitty EZ-Clone pucks) and poking through to the root zone. I am not pleased with the quality of these neoprene pucks! I used to clone in the EZ cloners 120 and 60 site with no problems.

It would seem they went CHEAP and these things now shrink up and dont even hold the cutting in place :finger: thanks cheap China shit. Enough of that let's move on...

So of course I HAD a plan when starting this project, and of course I have NOT stuck to the plan...example:

Made a cloning chamber and DIY cloner - not using it to clone?!?! uhhhh okay seems like a no brainer
Made a Flower chamber with HPA - trying to root cuttings in it....hmmmm foolish??
Made a mother chamber with Rumple Buckets - No mothers in it uhhh what??

So its no wonder I have had some issues along the way. I assumed that the HPA chambers running all the time would root cutting just as quick if not quicker as my previous experience with the EZ cloners...not so due to the improper environment..

I have options still:
1: I could ride out these cuttings and continue to learn from it (hmmmm)
2: I could transfer all cuttings to the cloner and root em then transfer back when successful (50/50 as I don't really want to be moving them all over the place)
3: Plug in 40 Girl Scouts that are rooted in roc wool and start the 12/12 cycle and yard this batch of lovely Afganies! (Girl Scout not really the strain I want for HPA SOG)
4: ANY SUGGESTIONS??

Well not to fret, I am a firm believer that environment is the sole behind everything, so when I get it all dialed things will turn out as expected or better!

Thanks all for stopping by and any support that is offered is APPRECIATED!

Alright till next time!

For humidity, go to walgreens and get a humidifier/nebulizer for about $40. They work great for increasing humidity in small spaces. Even putting a few buckets of water in your room will increase the humidity as they slowly evaporate off. It looks funny, but it works in a cinch. Quick question if you don't mind me asking...how much did you get your light for? I'm seriously considering one now, although it would be a stretch for my budget. I'm pretty loyal to my store, and they seem to have a good price, but I may need to price match on this one to get them down even though I hate doing that. They have it for 1464 here now: https://growershouse.com/lumigrow-pro-650

Hey Savage what settings do you run the 3 dials at during veg mode? do you mess with it or just run it full blast at 10 on all 3? or just red and blue? I got a pro 325 that im still trying to figure out.......

Nice, honestly I was going to ask you that question!

Just now trying to figure it out, currently on these cuttings I have it at blue 2 white 1 red 1 about 3 feet away...but I added a 200W soft white to try to WARM them up and the left side, G13 girls got fried it seems... :? I have provided anything but the ideal environment for attempting to root cuttings. I managed to crack a few but just got the cloning chamber lined up with some insulation and swapping them over in the am to the cloner..

What have you learned with the Lumi you have? This shit is POWERFUL...I don't even open my eyes if this is on 10's or max! After a hash hit thought I was going to kiss concrete! Lol ...seriously

Here's my tinkering today...

Insulation:
2012-12-16_23-49-17_791.jpg2012-12-16_23-49-28_736.jpg2012-12-16_23-50-13_167.jpg

Finished Clone chamber, well tidy up cords, wait for velcore tape to set...whisper quiet pump! see how it holds??

2012-12-16_23-50-24_663.jpg2012-12-16_23-50-38_394.jpg2012-12-16_23-50-49_117.jpg2012-12-16_23-50-57_376.jpg2012-12-16_23-56-11_937.jpg

After hash hit attempted to catch bubble action, almost caught floor...hydration is key!

2012-12-16_23-51-29_222.jpg2012-12-16_23-52-34_450.jpg

Some roots that crept through the foam puck, sad girls but ready experience gains confidence...hmmm

2012-12-16_23-54-16_483.jpg2012-12-16_23-54-36_234.jpg2012-12-16_23-54-44_93.jpg2012-12-16_23-55-08_16.jpg2012-12-16_23-55-12_647.jpg

So I want to switch them over to cloner and get em healthy in proper environment, lay to rest the...well some are just out

Then mix up some canna transfer them over with some roots and srt8 to 12/12.....Lumi @ 1/2 strength...
