found a datasheet for the ams.
on paper it looks not bad in real it differs for me.

even it doesnt like it, the sensor was flat to the light panel and the sensor was cleaned on the S8.
also switched of my 660nm reds to give the sensor a better chance.

Its great that you gave a real meter.
I see that calibration is off. So, does your phone measures lux correctly?

If you put +45% as calibration factor, I hope then it will measure correctly.

At the moment I am working on prototype, I will make some type-c otg external sensors.

Hope in a month or so, they will be ready, including app support.

lux is also off, you may can back calc it taking your ppfd converted to lux, used 3000k as preset.
yea, about +45% for my s8 and it could work out for 3000k.

btw. i havent found a conversion factor working with the same value my spectromaster does.
well, the spectromaster doesnt convert anything, so i still think that he should be more on spot but it doesnt fit any factor i found on the net.
easy to compare.
i think a lot of these calculators are wrong or just fit one type of luxmeter maybe, which are also off often by default.

Guys,

Just published an update, it will be available soon.
With the new version, measurements can be recorded and viewed on a graph. One of the most wanted feature requests.

If you have an idea/request please feel free to post :)

Guys,

Good stuff is happening Migro have been reviewed my app, I was not expecting this :)

Meantime, I have cracked the UNI-T UT383 BT Lux meters Bluetooth protocol :bigjoint:
Soon with an update, it will be possible to connect UT383 instead of the phone's built-in ambient sensor.
It is possible to poll around 25 readings per second it will be much better than any ambient sensor :fire:

Ive been looking for something like this for android. I downloaded it and went outside in direct sunlight. Im getting PPFD of over 7000 and DLI of 100, is this what direct sunlight should be? Or do I need some kind of calibration? Thanks

Wow, 7000!
More like around 2300 - 2400 with an apogee PAR meter

Sounds like a blown up lux readings from the ambient sensor.

Here in Netherlands I saw UNIT go out range which is 200k lux should be around 4.6k ppfd this is kind a peak I could get. Normal cloudy but bright days its 1.5k.

Which phone do you have?

Measure what it sees currently at 45 cm. Lets pretend it says 600 lux. 300 lux is 50% less than 600 lux. So you would set the calibration to -50%. Then you will see 300 lux next time you measure at 45 cm.
