Just wanted to here what you stoners thought about this seed bank. I think that there genetics are very good. For some reason you here more about Nirvana than anything on these threads. Buying from Nirvana is kinda like feeding a 250 pound man a 99 cent Banquet tv dinner when you know what he wants is a big steak dinner (in other words you get what you pay for)
I don't understand do people not know what good genetics are these days? Or are they just to cheap to care. All I know is if I'm gonna risk growing weed its gonna be killer! Well back to the subject, I have grown Warlock 2 times and again this year I have been very happy with this strain. Has anyone had any exp. with any of there strains?

Yeah, heard a mention of Magnus, but Serious Seeds is really getting just god feedback right now. Just 5 strains, but constantly improving they say

I think Sensi and dna are both very good breeders also well known. But I also think that Serious and Magnus have a slight edge on the rest just because they both only have 5 different strains that they are constantly perfecting. INSIDE MAGNUS GENETICS

The reputation of a small seed company is only as good as its weed.

In the world of commercial seed breeding, less is more. When a company limits its attention to a smaller number of strains, the result is often higher-quality marijuana. While many commercial seed breeders turn out dozens of strains that lack homogeneity, the small Dutch seed company Magus Genetics adheres to the less-is-more philosophy. Magus carries only five strains: Warlock, Double Dutch, Exile, Biddy Early and Motavation.

Magus's owner, Gerrit, a self-described "patchwork guy," found his way to the world of cannabis after myriad pit stops along the occupational highway. When asked, he'll rattle off a laundry list of previous jobs he's held - from electrician to industrial paint sprayer, steel caster to bartender - culminating in his current, and favorite, position: expert breeder. Cannabis has enriched his life both materially and spiritually. It helped him stop drinking. It provided him with stability and job security.

Gerrit established his seed company on the strength of his famous Warlock strain - also known as the "aroma bomb" by many smokers because, well, it stinks like hell. However, the success of Warlock is even more remarkable considering the strain came about accidentally. As the story goes, Gerrit began as an outdoor grower in the early '90s. He started off using Afghani and Skunk seeds he'd selected from coffeeshop weed in 1989. The male Afghani plants happened to pollinate a female Skunk plant. The result was a whole lot of F1 seeds.

The following winter, Gerrit turned to indoor cultivation, primarily working with clones he'd received from a friend, as well as the ostensibly pure commercial Skunk seeds and his own Skunk/Afghani-hybrid F1 seeds. During that time, Gerrit noticed that his F1 hybrids were considerably more vigorous than the pure Skunk plants but couldn't match them in terms of smell and taste. As his pure-Skunk-seed supply was exhausted, he decided to hybridize his last female Skunk specimens with the pollen of the male Skunk/Afghani-hybrid F1 plants. The resulting generation proved to be as vigorous as the original hybrid and even superior to the Skunk mother in terms of aroma and potency.

Eventually, Gerrit filled out the entire cultivation space with his own Skunk x Skunk/Afghani hybrids, devoting his full attention to strain development and improving his accidental creation. Soon after, Bluebird, one of Amsterdam's more popular coffeeshops, began selling Gerrit's hybrid under the name Warlock. The strain quickly became a favorite among a widening circle of customers. At the 1997 HIGH TIMES Cannabis Cup, Bluebird took third place in the bio category with Warlock.

Far from feeling satisfied, Gerrit was encouraged by the success of the strain to take breeding to the next level. He moved into a larger grow space where he could further explore his hybrid's genetic potential, and in January 1998, he officially registered his seed operation with the chamber of commerce.

Magus Genetics - Warlock

Flowering Time: 55-60 days
Indoor Yield: Good
Outdoor Yield: Good
Smell/Odour: The charismatic smell finds its equivalent in the rich and full taste: spicy...
Height: Medium
Effect/Buzz: Long-lasting, cerebrally and physically activating sativa high, mixed with a slight degree of indica stonedness
Genetics: Mostly indica

And here it is, the strain that finally dwarfs anything else in terms of aroma intensity. The strain whose aroma clouds penetratively rise into your face right after having opened the stash box, inducing an intense prickle feeling and spreading in the whole flat at lightning speed: Warlock. While one can argue over its fairly martial name, there`s no doubt about the unique smell and taste of this strain which represents something very special within the often genetically synchronized Dutch seed bank stock.

The Warlock is indica dominant but it also has some characteristics that are considered sativa by most people (elongation at flowering, active high, high calyx/leaf ratio).

It is a branchy plant that will form only a few medium sized leaves and a massive amount of flowers so it is easy to manicure. The pistils are clear white when fresh, changing to tan/pink when mature.

Warlock! The incredible Dutch aroma wonder

And here it is ! the strain that finally dwarfs anything else in terms of aroma intensity.

People who are not into marijuana will cry out, it stinks like hell!, when taking a nose of fresh Warlock bud. Marijuana lovers, however, will rather praise its heavenly stinking scent. But its incredible aroma is not the only celestial dimension of Warlock: According to Gerrit, owner and breeder of Magus Genetics, Illinois state troopers measured awesome 29% THC in US-grown Warlock plants, it is not that often that a state`s institution provides excellent PR data to a cannabis seed bank.

The two Warlock plants grown in a 2001 German indoor garden indeed turned out extremely potent, but they didn't quite seem to come up to those 29% of the US Warlock plants. I would suppose 20-23% THC, values that are common with first-class cannabis strains, as proven e.g. by an independent laboratory on occasion of the High Times Cup 1998: "Ice" 23.7%, Haze Special 21.8%, Sage 21%, Neville`s Haze 20.3% THC etc.

"Warlock" Both the origin and development history of Warlock are very unusual. It`s the only case I know of where a cannabis seed breeder offers a strain for sale that basically still consists of the same genetic material that he started his grower career with a long time ago: In the early 90ies, Gerrit selected some incidental Skunk x Afghan seeds from coffee shop weed and decided to start his first indoor garden on this basis. These random bag seeds proved as true 'lucky punches' for Gerrit, after years of selective breeding and inbreeding they supplied the charismatic genetic profile for Warlock. Gerrit started the breeding process with a selected female Skunk x Afghan grown from the original bag seeds, pollinating it with selected male flowers of another plant. Gerrit reports on the next step: The second generation was split up in 50 families (from 25 females & 2 males) and developed separately. Half of the families where judged useless, because the male used to create them was causing too much unwanted "Sativa throw-back" in most of them. From the other half, the best family was reproduced (I've kept copies from the parents) and was sold as Warlock seeds from '98 till '00. With plants selected from the remaining families, I made several 3rd generation families and selected a few healthy males from the family that was most similar to the ideal and used them for several test crosses, the male that performed best of them serves now as a father to all my strains (including the Bluebirds Starwarz). Already after the fourth generation, Gerrit had ended up in something that he considered as genetically stable, high-quality seed strain.

"Warlock" The breeding process of Warlock was accompanied by the simultaneous sale of Gerrit`s Warlock breeding results in the popular Amsterdam coffee shop 'Blue Bird' (beginning from the mid-nineties). This successfully served two purposes: On the one hand, getting a constant feed back from lots of smokers upon the results of his work, on the other hand, binding these smokers as future seed customers, because Warlock was not available as seed until 1998, and when it came out, there were lots of eagerly waiting Warlock fans who could finally grow their beloved strain by their own hands. Gerrit had decided to release Warlock to the seed market right after the Cannabis Cup 1997, since the strain had taken 3rd place in the Bio Cannabis Cup and successfully proven its quality to the public. Although, genetically seen, Warlock is a mostly indica, its inner and outer traits show more of the sativa spectrum, for example elongated stem growth during flowering, a very high calyx-to-leaf ratio and a roaring sativa up-high. The dark-green leaf colour, however, reminds of the Warlock`s indica heritage, the same is for its bud structure.

Female Warlock plants tend to grow into a huge main cola, along with some nice tops resulting from moderate side branching from bottom to the middle of the plant. The resin content is very good and satisfying, though not able to compete with those abundant amounts of so-called white strains. Some plants showcase funny looking popcorn buds, consisting of unusually evenly rounded calyxes. It is no accident that this look reminds of Original Skunk#1 plants, as the latter, respectively something closely related, are contained within Warlock. In spite of the compact and dense look of its flowers, the Dutch aroma wonder cannot compete with Skunk#1`s extra heavy yield (judging from my test cultivation). But its still more than solid harvest amount will surely not disappoint any grower. The flowering period of 55-60 days is comfortable considering the sativa qualities of Warlock. Already in the vegetative stage, the typical spicy-sweet aroma of Warlock builds up and quickly fills the whole room. You`ll need a good air-filter system when choosing Warlock for your grow room.

The charismatic smell finds its equivalent in the rich and full taste: spicy, but not acrid, the smoke actually is pleasantly mild, making for a long-lasting, cerebrally and physically activating sativa high, mixed with a slight degree of indica stonedness.

GBI - Green Born Identity
here is some info on there strains ( You definitely cant find info like this from just any seed bank) Magus Genetics - Double Dutch

Flowering Time: 55-65 days
Indoor Yield: Good
Outdoor Yield: Good
Smell/Odour: Fruity wildflower scent
Height: Medium
Effect/Buzz: Cerebal and Heavy
Genetics: 60:40 to 70:30% indica/sativa

The DOUBLE DUTCH aroma is a pleasant fruity wildflower scent. The buzz is complex and strong. The high is both cerebral and heavy. Expect the buzz to last 2-4 hours depending on the smoker's tolerance level.

In the flowering stage DOUBLE DUTCH produces giant Sativa-like buds. All tips that receive copious amounts of light will form huge buds similar to elongated popcorn balls. DOUBLE DUTCH Buds must be staked due to their heavy weight. Performs well in bio, coco and hydro growth mediums.

The DOUBLE DUTCH is a cross of a Warlock male with a pre-2000 Chronic female. During the seedling & vegetative growth stages, DOUBLE DUTCH shows its indica pedigree with fat leaves, thick stems, and a bushy growth pattern.

Double Dutch - Gerrit fires his second aroma bomb

Magus Genetics - Exile

Flowering Time: 60-67 days
Indoor Yield: High
Outdoor Yield: High
Smell/Odour: Tasted exactly like it smelled, strong and spicy
Height: Sensible
Effect/Buzz: Highly sedative
Genetics: Mostly Indica

The smell is strong and sweet but with a pine smell added to it, aggressive on a fresh plant but pleasant on the dried product. The high is strong and more on the body (sedative).

The structure/growing pattern is similar to the Warlock but it does not elongate that much and it has more and bigger dark green leaves.

It does not react on short days as quickly as the Warlock so they take approx. a week longer to finish. The fresh pistils are less white than those on the Warlock but the mature pistils are tan as well.

Magus Genetics - Motavation

Flowering Time: 50-60days
Indoor Yield: Medium to high
Outdoor Yield: Medium to high
Smell/Odour: Powerfully sweet
Height: short and Squat
Effect/Buzz: Overwhelming
Genetics: Indica-dominant hybrid

It will develop a powerful aroma that is somewhat sweet with a touch of turpentine or fresh paint. The high is an overwhelming body stone that will nail you to the couch while your thoughts drift away. You will have the greatest ideas and make many plans, but yet, will not have the urge to execute them right away. If you have any trouble making it thru the long winter evenings, the Motavation will make them pass by as if they never happened.

It took us a while longer than expected, but finally it's here. The long awaited successor of the Starwarz & Medizin Power, Motavation. Very suitable for indoor/closet growing although some training/bending during the first 2 weeks of flowering is recommended to create an even canopy.

A short/squat Indica-dominant hybrid with moderate stretch at flowering, a little leafy but covered with resin so its almost a waste to manicure the buds.

The Motavation - Diamond Buds Realized!

Magus Genetics - Biddy Early

Flowering Time: 50-60days
Indoor Yield: 400g /m²
Outdoor Yield: 300g per plant
Smell/Odour: Sweet candy
Height: Quite high
Effect/Buzz: Powerful high
Genetics:

The Biddy Early is our first outdoor variety, but in our opinion already one of the best ever. The majority of the plants will form red and purple colours if exposed to low temperatures, yet with some variation in the location and intensity of the discoloration. It has a sweet candy aroma and a powerful high, not recommended as a "day-time smoke", but still mild enough not to be considered a "party killer".

Of course it's also possible to grow the Biddy Early with great results indoors under lights, but remaining mothers in a vegetative stage for a prolonged period, can be difficult, and in some cases even impossible.

It will grow out to a classical Sativa Xmas tree with a height of approximately 1.8 to 2 meters. Because of its early flowering and maturation, it's very well suited for open field cultivation in Holland, and area's with a similar climate.

Biddy Early - A fresh breeze of superior outdoor genetics

Over night she became the covert shooting star of the High Times Cannabis Cup 2003. Totally unknown to the seed market before, Biddy Early scored a great coup at first go: It was the only outdoor-grown weed in the sativa category, and as such it took second place, leaving many high-bred indoor strains behind. The Biddy Early`s extreme citrus aroma and suprisingly strong potency hit the judges by surprise. It was the first outdoor variety released by Magus Genetics, and a big success story right from the start. Gerrit, the breeder of Magus Genetics, must have had the right touch when choosing the genetics for Biddy Early. Let`s see what is behind the name: As mother plant, Gerrit used Early Skunk (Skunk #1 x Early Pearl), an old outdoor classic from Sensi Seeds. Not quite a revolutionary genetic input for creating a new outdoor strain, but for sure a very solid hybridization partner with good open field performance properties. And such an outdoor-adapted variety was needed, since the father of Biddy Early is Warlock (Skunk x Afghan), a popular indoor strain from Magus Genetics that delivers a real aroma bomb with a very high THC content, imparting above average outdoor potency and much aroma complexity to the Biddy. The outcome is an outdoor variety with charismatic attributes and solid mold resistance that blows a fresh breeze into the landscape of outdoor genetics. According to Magus Genetics, Biddy Early can also be grown indoors with good results, however, it can prove hard or even impossible to keep mother plants in the vegetative state over a longer period of time, here the outdoor genetics take their toll sooner or later. Left uncut, the Biddy grows in to a christmas tree shape, reaching a height of 1.8 to 2 meters. Supplied with enough light, she exhibits very compact shoots with short internodes, what also makes her a highly suitable balcony strain.

That`s why the grower Ellis D. chose for Biddy Early as balcony plant in 2004. He intended to grow only one big lady there, and therefor sowed four seeds in mid-April. All of them came out of the ground quickly, receiving proper light from a 250 W HPS. Four weeks after germination, he changed the light cycle from 18 to 12 hours in order to be able to recognize the gender of his Biddy plants. After having identified them, Ellis D. had three very homogeneous female plants at his disposal, only one plant turned out to be male. Then the pre-sexed plants had to be forced into vegetative growth again. Ellis D. cut back all females to three internodes, gave them a strong nitrogen fertilizer dose and prolonged the light cycle to 20 hours. After some time, the plants returned to vegetative growth. But although clearly being on the vegetative side again, the plants kept on exhibiting one small single female flower at every new node. These flower memory markers reminded of the previous short flowering phase and showed that the flower hormone concentration in the shoot tips had not been fully scaled down again, the tendency to flower slumbered on in the plant, being superposed by the vegetative impulse. Ellis D. gave two females to a friend and kept one plant for his balcony project.

From June on, the Biddy Early solitaire plant resided on the southern exposed balcony of Ellis D., planted into a 25 litres container filled with soil. It was his plan to bend down the shoots of his lady horizontally and fix them to a trellis at the wall below his balcony window. But it soon became clear that this procedure had to be abandoned due to the Biddy`s sheer growth power, there were just too much shoots. By means of selective back-cutting of single shoots and bending down the branches again and again, Ellis D. achieved a huge horizontally even crown. His plant got very broad and very flat (75 x 110 cm H x W in the end). And it really had to be flat, for staying below the height of the balcony ballustrade (1,20 m) so that no neighbour would be able to sneak a peek. The June 2004 in Germany was unusually cold and dark, only a few sunny days broke through this unpleasant scenario. Due to the interaction of low light amounts and the Biddy`s latent tendency to flower, the plant autonomously returned to the flowering stage at the end of June. More and more flowers appeared at the shoot tips, developing into a vast amount of flowering tops in the course of July. At first, Ellis tried to force the plant back into vegetative growth by prolonging the daily light period with his indoor lamp in the evening, but this proved unsuccessful after a couple of days, and he realized that he had to give free rein to the flowering impulse now. As a consequence, Ellis D. carried his plant in and out every evening and morning so that it received a daily amount of 12 hours of light. The good thing about the precipitate bloom was that the buds could benefit from the intense summer sun light, and so the approx. 40 tops took an excellent development, getting fat and very resinous, exhibiting an Indica dominated flower structure, while the calyx-to-leaf ratio still was good.

Already on 24th of August, the Biddy Early had ripened and was happily harvested by Ellis D. After the buds had been dried, they gave a total weight of 115 grams of finest outdoor quality. Considering the fact that Ellis` balcony Biddy was three to four times smaller than a full-grown specimen with a harvest potential of 300 grams (according to Magus Genetics), this result was highly satisfying. Gerrit reports that the majority of Biddy Early plants will exhibit red and purple colours when the nights get cold. Unluckily, these attractive hues could not come about here, because the plant got ripe already in August. What was far more important to Ellis D., however, was the fact that the aroma and taste of the Biddy buds turned out to be honey-sweet and mildly flavoursome. There was no hint of citrus aroma, but according to Gerrit, the development of this special smell is rather fragile and depends on the case. And indeed, the strength of the high could compete with certain indoor strains, offering both energizing sativa and deeply relaxing indica effects, the combination of which providing a complex and revitalizing smoke experience to the consumer.

Biddy Early surely one of the most interesting and rewarding new outdoor strains in recent years. Now we are looking forward to Gerrit`s second outdoor strain coup sometime in the future.

Green Born Identity - G.B.I.
Magus Genetics - Biddy Sister

Flowering Time: 50-60 days Indoor / Outdoor September/October
Indoor Yield: Good
Outdoor Yield: Good
Smell/Odour: sweet
Height: Short
Effect/Buzz: body relaxing
Genetics: Indica

After a successful trail year we are now proud to present: Biddy's "little" Sister. A half sibling to the already well known and praised Biddy Early, but because of the short stature that she inherited from her Indica dominant father, more suitable for an indoor S.O.G. style of growing.
However, when grown with a long vegetative period or outdoors, excellent hybrid vigour ensures she will not stay little at all despite the limited stretch in flowering.

When planted early May she will become a giant bush with a height up to 2.5 metres and lateral branching that can reach almost as high as the main stalk.
The main stalk is big enough to be worthy of the term trunk, but sadly the branches are rather brittle and can easily brake/tear at the nodes when exposed to strong winds, especially when they carry heavy buds later in the season.
This will not be any problem when growing at a location where it's easy to provide extra support like a in a back-yard, but for guerrilla farmers this might be a little problematic.

She will develop a strong but pleasantly sweet aroma very early in life, so expect to "enjoy" that aspect well before flowering.
Some of the sweetness will come through in the taste as well, but is dominated by a rather minty taste, somewhat similar to good quality blonde Moroccan hashish. The effect is a pleasant body relaxing stone, potent enough, but not devastating strong.

If you are good at growing you dont need any tips as the shit practically grows itself. I just top mine once (because of its heritage skunk#1Xskunk#1Xafgani it is not very sensitive to nutes, it is just an all around tough plant very stable and uniform the only advice you need to know is ODER CONTROL!!!!! If you have any exp. with growing AK47 then you should know I think Warlock out stinks it.
