main stem snapped. recovery time?

so I was trying to lst an extra plant. snapped the main stem a couple inches up from the soil. half way thru so I don't know if it will survive. its about a month old. its been 24 hours and the plant is still limp an lifeless. I used duct taped on tthe wound. how long should I give it?

I would have suggested plant tape tied around some moss dampened with a little rooting hormone (KLN). Plant tape is this thin plastic strip with no sticky that you tie on. The moss with rooting hormone will need to be kept slightly damp and as long as you braced the main stalk and the two pieces are touching it really should be healed in a week... Two max.. But then the plant will be so stunted it may fall too far being the rest. In that case cut her up into clones. Hope everything works out for you!

What I did when I broke one of mine, was surrounded the broken area with toothpicks to help support it like a cast or splint, then taped with electrical tape, because you can pull on the tape and stretch it to make it tight.
 
Take the dam tape off your plant,The glue can get into the plants system if shes weeping,tie the break together using some twine she will pull together,GL

Tape is fine, use 3m painters tape. It won't stick permanently and when the stem heals and swells, the tape will pop off.
