Malana Cream?

My veg tent is 20/4.
This plant I topped fairly early and then I LST'd it so that it would not grow too tall. My flowering tent is 12/12.
...still kicking myself for not taking a couple cuts. But I'll have seeds with the afghani as the father, may prove interesting!

The sheer size of these buds is impressive. Their aroma is complex. Fruity, nutty, sweet, hard to really describe it. 4 more weeks? I think this one is a qp.
Great to see others growing these long flowering, forgotten sativa's. Many newer growers will look at this plant and not be impressed. But those in the know understand what you have. It's not going to have the highest THC but it's going to be something you can't buy or even try unless you grow it yourself or know someone that has and shares with you. The effects are nothing like the hybrids most grow today. You're going to have a lot of jars of some hard to find, exceptional cannabis.

These types of strains are what everything else is built on. Which is why I'm preserving as many as I can. It's not often you see others growing them. I don't have Malana Cream but I have others that I plan on growing and reproducing seeds from.

Keep growing :blsmoke:

Thank you thank you!
It's been a couple weeks and I didn't find any more seeds on the buds I had pollinated. Last night I chucked some GPS Cake N Chem pollen at her as well on a select couple lower buds - that could be something crazy.

Next time I test with a classic sativa I have a few to choose from here in my genetics stash.

Kumaoni? - also a Himalayan Sativa
Rasoli? - another Himalayan sativa.
Malawi? They claim its the world's strongest sativa.

honestly I had never grown a pure sativa before and I have NEVER seen buds this big.

Very nice plants and very inspiring!

After seeing this I‘m going to give some Kumaoni freebies a try when my current batch of Siberian landrace (also from real seed co.) finishes up. I’m growing 4 Siberian in a seed run for use in future pollen chucking projects I’ve got planned.

Do you run a shortened light cycle? I am gathering information for my next grow of various Ace Seeds NLD varieties. They say veg no longer than 15 days and go to 11/13. I think I will do 12/12 for the veg and then drop it down.
The breeder at ACE has even recommended 10/14 for some of their sativa strains to get them to finish. At 12/12 they'll just keep flowering. I pulled an Oldtimers Haze at 20 weeks that was still shooting new pistils. Every time I thought it was done new clusters would shoot out. It was crazy. I probably should have let it go another 4 weeks or so but it was taking up half my tent and I had a backlog waiting to get into the flower tent so it had to go. Turned out to be some damn fine sativa smoke. I'm glad I grew it but 20 weeks was a chore when I'm just flowering in a 4 x 4 tent. The next sativa run of ACE Ethiopian I flipped those suckers after a couple weeks straight into 10/14. It seemed to really help and they finished in about 13 weeks. Great smoke as well.

I have the Kumaoni but am afraid to grow it indoors as they can get quite large. I don't know if my 4 x 4 tent is up to the challenge. There will have to be some serious training and at most only a couple week veg before going into the flower tent. But I do need to grow it for seed reproduction so I might just plant all the seeds and flower after a couple weeks.

The Rasoli sounds interesting. My next sativa run is going to be Malawi. I'm getting ready to toss some F5's of my Durbistan cross I've been working on in the flower tent. But The Malawi is up next so I'll get some geminated in a couple weeks. It's supposed to be potent. I've never grown it so we'll find out what we can achieve.

Good luck with whatever you decide to grow next. :blsmoke:

Thank you for the information, I will most likely ask you a few things here and there on this subject. This morning I got word that my two orders from Seedsman and Attitude were in the US and will be here Monday. I have GT third edition Thai leaning, Thai x Panama, Malawi and Panama coming. Really excited about these and look forward to the journey. I don't really need any weed right now but I just dig watching this plants do their thing.

I had a preview smoke today of a smaller bud lower down, dried it over a few days and now it's been in a jar a couple days. Made a joint and went outside, the smoke was smooth, tasty, and already brings a heady high that wasn't overwhelming; I puttered around all day, and 'worked from home' thanks to the pandemic :eyesmoke:

Also starting to get some seeds from this big momma - Papa was a bushy, brute and stinky Cake N Chem from GPS. Will probably end up with close to 100 seeds to test with.

very cool. I bought some real seed co stock a while ago, before they started selling their own in house reproductions. Everything I have was gathered at the point of origin. Very low germ rates. Definitely preserve these himalayan varieties if possible. I have gone through about 20 kumaoni seeds so far, not a single healthy sprout in fact they all have some kind of himalayan damping off fungus that kills them. Hopefully you will hae better luck with your newer stock.

That plant is seriously amazing.
