This is my first time growing ... I planted some stress seeds from a sack I got at first lighting wasnt too good but its better now since upping the light they grew a little more and have small leaves coming out of the joint in the stem of the plant Ive read and looked at pictures showing the difference between male and female but these dont seem to have anything coming out of them or the pollen sacks just very little leaves does anyone know what this is ... do i just need to wait it out and see if anything developes?

You won't know the male until many weeks into vegetative growth when the pre-flowers begin to form. Otherwise, you can't know the sex of the plant until you begin the "fall season" light cycle (12 hours on/12 hours off).

You can't tell what the sex is just by looking at the plant. Wait it out...get a lot of light on that thing and enjoy it.

you can tell the sex of a plant before it shows any kind of flowers.

They are probably stipules :)

.. that pointy 'leaf' is a stipule.
They aren't a sign of sex, unfortunately you will just have to wait a little longer.:)

Lol, the stipules aren't always straight. They can be a little curvy too.
Are they on pretty much every node? If so they are probably just stipules like I said, or simply new growth like LUDACRIS stated.

Some pictures would be really helpful!

they look to be new leaves ... they got a little bigger and look exactly like small versions of the other leaves
