females look similar but with a pair of thin curly white hairs coming out the top forming a (V). The males will not display these hairs and the pod you see in the pic will grow a short stem that will extend it outward.
You might have to wait a little Longer dont start culling yet.
the hairs are white and thin so is hard to see with those pics but there are tons of pics online.
Keep a close eye on them for the next week

That's not a calyx, it's forming a cluster of nut-dust.

Its not really a bad thing to keep a known male around It will make the females dress up for the show, as long as you catch it before it starts pollinating. I think you should wait a few more days and keep an eye on it,I've seen females start like that. Not all but some. If you start seeing clusters of those balls like this then its male.
