If orange asshole likes him, he should be forced to change parties.

I disagree.

I believe that the reason he is giving is complete horse shit, but I don't think it is a mistake to stop the bleeding from the Trump years and not over-react to the very real devastation that the Republicans are currently doing to our democracy.

It is still a very hard road to winning the house in 2022. And the Republicans are essentially in a open continued insurrection in our nation. And it is important to not allow the current Republicans the ability to troll Biden with Benghazi hearings for the last 2 years leading into the 2024 election.

If the Democrats go nuts and pass everything that we very much need to get to work on, there is more danger of giving the Republicans everything they need to scare people into buying into all the 'defund police/socialist/racist/anti-religion' trolls just enough to not vote for the Democrats.

And what good will that do if in 3 years we get Trump and the Republicans in power in DC again and loose our democracy when they federallze all the anti-voting/gerrymandering nonsense?

Fuck this shit. Playing around numbers in the House and Senate. Work against Manchin, because he's a DINO, and take the risk of a Repulsivecan taking his spot. Same with Sinema. Remove both of them to take away what they desire most, power and attention. Both know "bipartisanship" doesn't exist and will not for the foreseeable future. The (R)s have made that clear. So, purge both from the party. We've got to be bold.

Then wouldn't that just put McConnell in charge of the senate early?

I'd prefer to win people over with predictability and stability. Saving our democracy from the racist agenda of Trump and this current batch of Republicans is too important IMO than over reaching because they are taking away their citizens ability to have their voices heeded in the states that they are currently in power of.

But I am just one person's perspective. And don't claim to also not feel like we should be dragging away all of these corrupted politicians (because they are sucking dictator money in and forwarding their agenda's here in America) in cuffs, but I also think Netanyahu is the first domino, and that is still teetering atm.

If we lose our democracy, it's the will of the people. Give the people a real choice and it will survive, not the same old, same old. This placating and kissing ass of certain reps and senators is an antiquated paradigm and won't change, unless we put effort into it. I'm seriously considering a move to Belize. I'm so glad my dad is not here to see his effort in the South Pacific during WW2 was a waste. So, now dogpile on topcat.

I agree with you. No dog-pile.

It is sickening what the Republicans are trying to pull in our nation right now. And very very scary, because it has happened again and again in history and it is never good for the people in those nations.

We do have to put the effort in.

I just noticed some signs go up the other day myself on local elections, and realized I had no idea if any elections were coming up, but if they weren't why the signs.

Thank you for jogging my memory.
https://www.usa.gov/election-office

Looks like Michigan has elections on August 3rd.

And now I am finding out that I have no way to actually see who is running for office or what I will be voting on without contacting by phone/email the local clerk's office directly. Maybe better way to know, but if I don't do the work to see who is who and if they are spouting nonsense it would be impossible for me to have any idea who I am voting for until I see the ballot.

Michigan needs to step it up across the state and oust these Republicans that have been planning this insurrection since at least the Tea Party nonsense. And every other state needs to do the same. Right now it is a choice between democracy and dictatorship. I had hope that we would do the right thing once again in America in November 2020, now I actually have faith that we will continue to fight this cult trying to win back control of our nation since we just proved we can do it.
As for what Manchin is doing dragging the Democrats feet on pushing their full agenda through, I am more worried about what the Democrats do that gives ammunition to the manufactures of all the propaganda to attack our citizens with, because this war is not over, and everything is on the knifes edge. And we are getting into fire season and whatever other natural disaster occurs next that we need to get ahead of.

we have plenty of Trump ammo over the last 5 years..Russia are you still listening?

And I think that attempt turned out pretty well. And that was with 6 years (at least) of continued attack by the Russian military helping Trump unchecked and us mostly in the dark and getting mixed messaging thanks to Trump and his Republican trolls.

Trump, sure, but the insurrectionist Republicans need to be voted out.

Manchin has Beau all fired up. I do think Manchin is full of shit btw, but just don't necessarily disagree with stopping the filibuster with respect to the next couple elections that the Democrats desperately need to win, even with the Republicans stopping their citizens from voting by forcing them to waste their time to the point they stop trying to vote again.

But I think America was woken up, and is still getting back up. 5 months is not a lot of time, and Biden is rallying the globe's democracies to get ready for what is coming to the world when Putin and the other dictators start to show their cards on what they are going to do after attacking us nonstop for the last decade.

Say it ain't so Joe! Looks like old Joe might have ulterior motives for his bullshit. There must be billions if not trillions involved in having a bottleneck for change in the senate. His love of the Jim Crow traditions of the senate instead of the intentions of the founders and constitution, seem more bogus with each passing day. The republicans will drop the filibuster in a heartbeat, once they get power, no matter if the democrats do it or don't do. Trying to make a deal with the Devil never works out, he always cheats, it has to be a fight to the death now.

It appears that a whopping 79% of WV voters support HR-1 for the people and a mere 15% oppose it! Joe is pandering to 15% of voters in his state who are lunatic republican Trumpers that would never vote for a democrat in a million years... Someone must have driven a truck load of money up to his house and dumped it on the lawn. How else can you explain defying 79% of all voters in the state and 81% of his own democratic voters? 79% of independents and 76% of REPUBLICANS support HR-1 election reforms FFS!

Poll Shows Manchin Wildly Out Of Step With West Virginia Voters On Voting Rights Bill

Rachel Maddow shares details from a new poll that shows West Virginia voters of all political stripes are very supportive of the For The People Act to protect voting rights, which makes it all the more odd that Senator Joe Manchin, who represents West Virginia, does not.

lol that chart is pretty damning.
I got to wonder how they asked the questions on that for the people to answer.

There's more to Joe being a pain in the ass than meets the eye, something is jerking his chain and it ain't the traditions of the senate or anything else he's spouting off about. Being a bottle neck for change is worth a lot of money to a lot of very rich people. This poll was done by a group that supports HR-1, but I don't think it was that biased, or far off the mark and if it's even close to being accurate, Joe has some explaining to do, to his voters, over 3/4 of republicans support it FFS!

Biden's people need to look into this and if it's accurate, then they can use it to really pour fire, not just heat on Manchin! Jesus Christ, how far out of whack can you be with your voters and entire fucking state! He's got his seat for the next 6 years, but if the democrats can win a few more senate seats in 2022, they are gonna screw Joe and his state bigly.

by about 70% and he goes back to his people and tells them that got this for them..how do you think red WV is going to feel when their UI is reduced by $300 weekly this month. The American Rescue Plan is a Federal Bill and Federal always supersedes State. I'm not even sure how they can legally do this.

Biden should've outed them on live teeeeeeveeeee as it appeared he was going to do. the fact that he teased them like that? he's not fvcking around.
