Im anxious for new pics as well. I had some kalichakra before and it amazed me, plus i found a seed in it.

I stumbled across the Canna Stats project recently. This is the first research backed nutrient uptake profile for cannabis that I've found. Apparently cannabis can thrive throughout its life-cycle using the same nutrient profile until just a couple of weeks before flush at the end of its life cycle. There is a feeding strategy known as the "Lucas formula" based on this information. It used the General Hydroponics flora micro and bloom but not the grow. The suggested nutrient profile for vegatative growth through the first third of flowering is 100N-100P-200K-60Mg. These numbers are in ppm. People achieve mind blowing results with this simple formula.

From what I've read, in coco, this much K causes some problems with nitrogen uptake. Grat3fulh3ad on icmag has been running a "modified Lucas formula" in coco for about a year and a half now, and has had success with mixing a N 130 P 93 K 163 Mg64 S 43 Ca 130 solution by using 6ml/gal micro and 9ml/gal bloom. He hand waters in coco with no other aditives and almost no runoff.

I had already placed my order for Botanicare's Triflex line of nutrients when I found all this information. What I've found is that I can mix a solution that has a very similar nutrient profile using the Triflex Base and Bloom in combination with Cal-Mag+.

With a little research, I found the guaranteed analysis of the Botanicare products in question to see what I could work out. I found that at a concentration of 1ml/gal, Triflex Base has profile 5.28 N 0 P 6.58 K 2.64 Mg 2.64 S 0 Ca, Triflex Bloom has profile 2.64 N 4.61 P 4.39 K 1.32 Mg 0 S 5.38 Ca, and Cal-Mag+ has profile 5.28 N 0 P 0 K 3.17 Mg 0 S 8.19 Ca. So, using 8ml/gal Base, 14ml/gal Bloom and 4ml/gal Cal-Mag, I get a nutrient profile that looks like N 100 P 64 K 114 Mg 52 S 21 Ca 107. Since I will have more Ca than Mg in solution, I'm going to pH my nutrient solution around 5.7.

Once I actually get my hands on the nutrients, I can weigh 100ml of each part of the solution to make sure that the concentrations that I'm using are correct. The ratio will be the same, but the concentration may be off. I'll double check this against TDS meter readings to be sure about what I'm doing.

I'm excited about trying my own personally modified "Lucas formula". I've seen awesome results from the Triflex nutrients in different fruiting crops online, but I've never really seen cannabis grown with them. Hopefully, I'll be able to get some really awesome results with this formula.

There are some tastey looking buds forming in the flowering room, and the little veg gloset is packed out with the 7 Querkle plants, the two Kalichakra moms and 14 Kalichakra clones. I'm going to cull the K1 pheno eventually because K2 is bulking up equally well this run through. The K2 is covered in crystals and smells like lemons and grapefruit. It's the trippiest grass that I've smoked.

I'm currently building a 4x9x7h enclosure that I can disassemble and move whenever needed. It comes apart into pieces that will fit the bed of the truck with the removal of 14 screws. The ends are 1/4" plywood stapled and glued to a frame of 2x4's. Each end an the floor are separate pieces. There are 2x4's that run the length of the top front and back corners. The top, front and back are made from one piece of panda plastic. The front opens with 3 zippers so that one of the whole large sides opens in 2 panels. The whole piece of panda can be unvelcroed to be removed and reinstalled later. We did a dry build with just the framing parts yesterday, but I'm waiting on some supplies to come in to really install it.

I'm upring my aircooling for my hood to a 10" 750cfm and using an 8" Cool Sun XL reflector hood. This makes it where I can easily ass a second 1000w with no heat issues as soon as I can afford it. I'm also going to be getting some 55gal reservoirs and a submersible pump garden hose because I'm sick of carrying 30 gal of water from the bathroom to the sapre bedroom three times a week.

I'll post pics of the enclosure build and all the girls once I get everything sorted out with my space. It shoud have some up next weekend sometime. Flushing on the 8 week K1 pheno started today. Everything should be looking super juicy by the time that I get some more photos to you guys,

I received my shipment from the horticulturesource.com today. We spent quite some time cleaning building and installing the new grow space. Here are the pics. It's way easier to work in there now.

I got 2 55 gallon drums to use as reservoirs today. They're used once food grade and cost $15 each. I'll tell you guys five gallons of out of date soy sauce that have been sitting in the GA sun all summer does not smell good. It was pretty foul in my car on the way home.

I'm going to get some tubing, a valve and some PVC in an appropriate diameter to match this little 132 gph pump that I got to water with. This means no more carrying 20 gal of water into my room three times a week. I'm pretty excited about that.

I'm getting the CalMag and shitload of coco today, so I'll be able to plant around 30 clones that have been ready for a while and water everything with the new nutrient schedule. I'm really excited about using a formula that lets me analytically address nutrient issues to better dial my plants in.

I think I need some airstones and an air pump for my reservoirs. I'll pobably get that at WalMart after I drive my 150mi round trip to the hydro store.

Does anyone have any suggestions for making my tarp zippers more light tight?

As per my avatar, I'm going to start using 200 liters of water in my reservoirs and start thinking about my mix in terms of liters instead of gallons... basically just for the hell of it.

what u do with teh zippers is fix one side to the edge of one tarp and the other side to the other tarp a few inches past the edge so you get a flap that covers the zipper

then just use some velcro to stick that flap down if you like

they also make light tite zippers but they cost more

Thanks. I really expected the zippers I ordered to be light tight. I just assumed that they all were. Now that I know some are and some aren't, I think that I'll just get some that are light tight in the next couple of weeks. I can just keep that whole bedroom pretty dark during the dark period until then. My temps now stay at 75 degrees constantly.

The one flowering OG Kush plant immediately responded to the improved temperature. The bud that it's growing looks great, but that plant is sparse as hell, frail and finnicky. It was the only one of four seeds that survived. It was bagseed from some OG at a dispensary in Cali. I think I'm going to get less than a quarter off that plant, and it would be probably 6 feet tall. I LST'ed it sideways across my space between the Kalichakra bushes. I'm going to try multiple topping and extended veg time to see if I can figure out how to get some kind of yeild out of this strain. The buds are super dense, and the room smells like lemons any time that I touch her.

I used the Canna Stats spreadsheet that I found in a thread on icmag to find some estimates of the concentrations of each nutrient in my nutrient solutions. I used the numbers that I found to calculate that a 7ml per gallon water Triflex base, 12ml per gallon Triflex Bloom, and 4ml per gallon Cal-Mag+ should give the N-P-K-Mg-S-Ca profile 103-65-114-54-21-112. I filled my reservoir with 50 gallons of water. After allowing the chlorine to evaporate, the water was at 88ppm at .5 conversion. I added half the dose to my reservoir and checked the ppm. I found that at this concentration, a full dose would give me 1236ppm in my reservoir. My target ppm is 850, so I calculate (850- 88 )/1236=.6165, so I miltuply my dose for the reservoir by that constant and arrive at using 216ml Triflex Base, 370ml Triflex Bloom and 123.5ml Cal-Mag+ in 50 gal water. I adjusted the pH to 5.78. It's really stable. The concentration and the pH have remained relatively constant all week. I feed all my plants the same thing. My freshly planted clothes loved it on second watering, the flowering plants that are still being fed are looking the best that I've grown, and the fully vegatative plants seem to love it too. I'm a believer that this plant can grow through its whole life cycle using the same nutrient profile. I'm just using plain pH'ed water for the last three weeks of flowering.

I tried the Iquana Juice from advanced nutrients. It's got a lot of fish emulshion and won't stay in suspension. The plants were slow with it. I've heard mixed reviews of their full line, but I'm trying to get onto using as few products as possible. I I'm still dialing my nutrients in. It looks like that OG is pretty happy at 850ppm, and the Kalichakra is always a bit light during stretch, but then seems generally pretty happy around there. I burned some Kalichakra plants feeding at 950ppm a while back. The Querkle plants seem to want more nutrients. They're beginning stretch right now, and they seem to be showing N and P deficiencies. I mixed my reservoir at 880 today. I'm trying to see if I can find something that will work for all of my plants, but I may have to end up doing something different. I have two 50 gal reservoirs, so I could conceivably mix different strengths in them.

I harvested 4 Kalichakra Plants today. I'll post some dried cured bud shots when they're available. There is a K2 plant still going. The K1 seems to be best around 59 days, and the K2 may go up to 10 weeks. I harvested her at 67 days last time.

I harvested one K1 plant about a week ago. The buds are airy, but it was the weakest plant to start with. It's almost dry enough to jar up and start curing.

I put the 7 Querkles in to flower on the 23rd. I kept clones off of all of them. It looks like I have 3 males, 1 female and 3 that aren't showing just yet.

I have 3 Kalichakras that have just finished stretching. They have 5 or 6 more weeks on them. They were veged 2 months and I think will yeild maybe 4oz each.

I started 11 more Kalichakra plants flowering day before yesterday. Six more should be ready to flower in a week. Then, a week after that, I'll be able to pull the male Querkles and finish completely filling out the space with about 16 more Kalichakras. I should be getting another 1000w light around then as well. I should really be smoking it up after the first of the year.

I have spider mites again. I'm thinking about going on and spending the money on some Floramite.
