Whats up! Ok, so I know it cost a lot of money to start a grow..What I would like to know is how much does the electricity bill go up due to fans and lights being on so much? Say if your bill was around 150 a month. If you started a grow how much do you think it would be?

Then I also would like to know what are the perfect jobs for a grower? Growers have jobs besides growing right?? And if anybody knows the perfect state where its fairly easy to find a job that wont get in the way of growing please share...........thanks MFG420

thanks for replying... well hopefully growers see this and can help about the bill estimates...
about the job part though..is there any requirement landing a job in a hydro store or garden center? or can anyone with the interest of growing get it. it would be dope working in that environment.

Your asking for an impossible answer. Dependant on your current electric rates and size of the grow operation, type of grow operation will vary your bill from anywhere to not even noticing a change, to double, triple, or even more added to the bill. A few plants probably won't be but a couple extra dollars to the bill.

oh yeah good point lol.... well lets say the bill is $150 - $250. and im growing about 10- 15 plants. does that help a little? if anybody has personal experience with electric bills and growing please post so i can get a better understanding. especially if anybody lives in colorado because i want to move there in the near future.

I run a 600W light with fans , pumps ( hydro ) timers , etc. and my bill goes up about $20 to $25 extra a month on average.

Add up the WATTAGE that each appliance and light uses, then either look on your bill or call the power co. and ask what the kilowatt/hr rate is. They bill you for each 1000 watts per hour used (Kw/hr). For example a 1000 watt light uses 1 Kw/hr. If they charge you .09 cents per Kw/hr, that light will add $64 dollars a month to your bill (if on 24/7), $22 if on 12/12.

Hope this helps.

PS, the power company isn't going to "turn you in" for using more electricity than they think you should be, as long as you pay the bill on time, and don't bitch about the increase. If a customer starts bitching about the bill being high, they'll come out and look for the source of the increase (short), but if things are OK, they'll just sit back and collect the money. The only time power consumption will come into play is if the cops are already on to you. They will then start looking at your usage, but by that time they are just adding evidence for the warrant. Keep your mouth shut, tell no one what you are doing and you'll be fine.

any job is fine as long as you can come home every day, obviously traveling for weeks to a time will hurt you but if you put your shit on timers then they will do most of the work for you and you can set up your grow so the lights are on while you are home so you can go into your room and maintenance them (you dont want to be going into your room and turning lights on during "night time" while in flower stage )
