Mars hydros fc8000 question

I have this light for my 5x5 room. I was wondering if I could disconnect 4 on the 8 lights cause I only have 3 plants in my room and it right now takes up less than half the room.
Will running my light with 4 on and 4off disconnected will it first work, 2nd use half the power and 3rd not cause any damage the power supply.
If anyone out there has done this with this light or something similar I would like to hear ur thoughts.

I'm not sure how it's wired, but it seems like each bar is wired in parallel, and then it would work. The thing is if you remove half the bars, you'll want to be sure and dim the driver down 50% as well, or you could fry your diodes.

good call. I’ve running my lights with some 3 mothers and 15 clones at 25%. My clones took three weeks and only 40% or so have roots. I have a big trip starting on the 18th of January son I’m cutting it really close with the clones. I have to plant them and len veg for a week or two before I flip, just a guess.
so I was just gonna flower my 3 mother plays and use the lines as a learning g experience. First time tried cloning. I think it took so long cause for the first 10 or so days it didn’t have a heat pad under the humidity dome.
