Massively lowering humidity is good?

Hey all! Does anyone lower their humidity as much as possible the last couple weeks of flower to gain even more frost on their nugs? I've been told lowering humidity as much as possible during this time will make the buds protect and seal themselves with more resin. Does this have any scientific backing and does anyone here do it with great results? Thanks!

No, lowering humidity for the last few weeks will not induce the buds to seal themselves with resin

Lowering humidity towards the end of life would do more to prevent mold. The continuous gentle breeze and air circulation inside the tent/room would do more for stem strength and trichome development.

Thanks guys. I ask only because have a friend thats a commercial grower that swears lowering humidity last two weeks frosts things up considerably compared to not doing it. I think I might have to experiment on my own.

If you test it would you mind taking some pics so we can all see the results.

I'd say there's no more trichs are going to miraculously appear.

I try to stay within the chart

Making it colder I understand may help,I increase vent speed and turn off any heaters/hps last 3 weeks.This drops humidity since my house is dry and drops temp.

It's pretty normal for most strains to pack on and swell trichomes and buds the last couple of weeks regardless of the RH. That's the main reason to not crop early unless it's that or lose everything for some reason.

I tend to drop it slightly from where I usually am as far as not following VPD strictly. I'm more worried about high humidity causing bud rot or powdery mildew issues with heavy colas at that point than having VPD perfectly dialed in. I still keep it up around 45-50% though so I'm not dropping it down to 35% like some I've heard of.
