Mean words

I was reading another thread and it kind of dawned on me that many words were passed on to some or all of us.
Words like Retard, nigger, cracker faggot etc...
I have to admit that I use some of these words but it is out of habit from my youth and it is hard to stop. I have gay relatives, different color relatives and my uncle has brain damage. The words just roll off the tongue with no thought to the real meaning. If you think you do not use any of these "mean words" it is probably that they are more subtle than the Main list above. Ever say that someone was a bitch? if so were you really making a comparison to a dog? I do not think so I think you were using a word that was passed on to you. It is a pain in the butt especially if the word is tossed around allot like gay. I never really think about it until my gay mom is around and someone tosses the word out there carelessly. like this. Shit sorry that happened to you, that's gay!
I never really cared about this in my youth and the problem is that I don`t really practice NOT using them because
I do not go around many people so it is awkward when you find yourself saying things carelessly.
On the other hand there are people who really are hateful and mean the word literally. So i`m asking you is this an issue for you and how far do you take it. Remember some of the words were in the past socially acceptable like retarded, bum and the like. So do you get bent out of shape when someone pushes your hot button then turn around and use the word bum.

They are just words but wouldn't it be weird to refer to someone as acting like a ptsd case in front of someone
with ptsd. I mean that is pretty specific.

Just like southpark changed to the word faggot to mean any one who rides or owns a harley. So, my friends say I'm a faggot and i laugh.

lol, I also just realized that I have been around black people and they don`t call each other honky.
Do other races use "white ass mother fucker" or cracker towards each other when we are not around or is it mostly white people
that have this habit?

It's not really the words but the intent. If two friends are clowning around and one calls the other faggot in fun, that's one thing. But if someone calls a gay person faggot because they hate gays, that IMO crosses the line.

I can't stand it when some retard's parent writes an article saying that their heart breaks every time they hear the word retard, so they start a campaign stating that no one should ever use it. People who think that way, are retarded. Just like their children. The apple does not fall far from the tree as they say.

That is a good point and that is the problem for me. Some of these words were used all the time around me
by my grandfather who was a racist. He probably attached a whole other meaning but to me it is just the way you address a dipshit buddy. Not a problem unless you happen to slip up around a sensitive person and it is important to you not to hurt that person.
I guess I`m just pissed because I`m running out of stuff to call people and not calling names is not an option. How else would they know I loved them?

cursing and insults are for laughs, me and friends use racial slurs and vulgar insults with each other all the time, if you really want to hurt someone be calm, be clear, and be honest.

I have been called mean for the language I use. That made no difference the unrelenting
cussing continued.

Depending on where i am makes a difference too.

At my house I WILL say what ever I am possessed to.

At your house I may be more reserved.

I curse like a sailor and get very colorful with it and it hasn't bothered anyone I know so far. But I do live in Brooklyn, people tend to have thicker skin here. I don't even really think about it, it just comes out. The only time I hold my tongue on the cursing and whatnot is when I am around a girl that I like.

My son has two friends that are black and they argue all the time with each other, my husband has had to split them up on more than one accasion, the last incident was only last week in my sons bedroom where they were both shouting at each other and calling each other black bastards, and the one was telling the other he thought he was it because he was a big black man its mad listening to them.
