Measuring run-off digitally...

Hey... hey...

Just wondering if anyone has ever used something like this to measure run off.

I was thinking of installing one on the main pipe flooding my system and then on one the pipe exiting the drain tray going to waste. I can then measure the difference for each flood.

I run a remote system so looking at ways to measure and automate.

I've already ordered a Arduino unit and a load of soil moisture sensors so I can build my own rockwool moisture dryness monitoring system.

I haven't done it. But i'm a strong supporter of all sorts of DIY and automation. I saw someone in these forums get weight meters and use them to weigh the pots using an Arduino setup in order to keep track of how fast the plants drank the nutes... Very interesting.

By the way, when you get the moisture sensors make them read moisture every certain amount of minutes instead of constantly... That way they will corrode much less and last much longer.

Interesting. I've just ordered a smartbee hand held to help me calibate my arduino system.
