Measuring THC Level

Hi, quick question. When most seed vendors post the percentage of THC levels, is this number the percentage of THC out of strictly the cannabinoids, or all of the organic substances in the buds in general?

I'm asking because I encountered this on a seed bank's website:

THC Level: 21.2% measured upon the rest of cannabinoids. 7.9% measured upon the rest of organic substances belonging to buds like: aminoacids, sugars, terpenoids, vegetal hormones, and cannabinoids (determined by gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry)
And on the vendor's websites, the 21.2% level is the only one mentioned. I'm asking because I'm wondering if the THC level is only 8% by everyone else's standards, but they are passing the 21% off in order to pull a fast one. Since I don't actually know what the standard measurement is that determines the listed THC percentage on all of the seed websites, I thought I'd ask.

Thanks everyone!

Smoking it either way would be a pleasure but it won't actually tell me how the THC level is usually measured, which is what I want to know.

The only way you can measure THC is to find a laboratory and a scientist who is willing to help you. Smoke a bowl with him :)

I'm not interested in measuring the THC level of my own pot (well, that would be cool , but what I want to know is, when most seed companies list THC level for different strains, are they commonly measuring the level of THC as a percentage of all of the organic substances in the bud, or simply the percentage of cannabinoids in the bud?

Maybe I should have posted this in Advanced Growing. :-|

I appologize, it seems I unknowingly hijacked the thread. I have seen the percentages on the sites, but I have never purchased any.
