Medical MJ saved my dog!

I am not sure how people on here feel about getting pets high. I for one feel that if they want it I will give it to them. If my cat jumps on my lap while I'm smoking and looks up at me I assume she wants some and will give her some.

But more to the point. We (my family) helps to rescue animals (mainly dogs, I tend to keep the cats). A few years ago we had rescued a very old, more like ancient dog named Enoch from the pound. He was set to be put down soon. This was a pitiful looking dog and he looked like he had a hard life and was now spending his last days in a pound. We knew there was no real chance of finding this old guy a home but we decided to take him in and let him live out his last few weeks in a loving home.

Winter was coming and we all said there would be no way he would make it through the season. He had horrible arthritis and would barely eat. He was basically starving himself to death and he looked like he struggled so much just to get around sometimes.

We were about to bake a batch of MJ Peanut Butter Cookies and decided to make some little pieces for Enoch. We noticed within the first day he was feeling better. He was moving around more and was able to eat plenty. We continued giving him little pieces for about a month until he seemed in full health. He was eating regularly and only struggled with stairs (3 stair back porch). We then only would give him pieces as needed.

Well, the winter passed and Enoch was still kicking, stronger then we thought he could. My sister started taking him to adoption events and everyone loved how loving and affectionate this old guy was. Though due to his age no one wanted to adopt him ($50 with all shots). We ended up deciding to keep him and he made it to another winter. Again even though he was doing better we saw no way he could make it through another. He ended up living with us for about 3 years before a very nice elderly couple adopted him. We know he did great with them for at least a few months but are unsure of his current state (they stopped responding to emails.)

So long story short, Marijuana saved this dogs life (or at least gave him several years he would not have had).

I'm a firm believer in the curative properties of this amazing plant, but the logic here confuses me.

How do you know if an animal "wants it"? That seems like a hard, and pretty subjective, decision to make. I'm assuming the cat doesn't have a medical condition?

Regardless, glad to hear Enoch did better. Sounds like a great dog.

animals that like it totally tell you that they want it. (i guess you do have to force it upon them the first time but whatever) my friends dog loves it so much that when ever we smoke he jump into his lap and puts his face over my friends mouth and trys to lick the bong all excitedly. But then again who doesnt love weed

Yeah my stoner cat keeps trying to eat my plants. I left the closet door open for a few hours the other day and I always keep an eye on them to make sure they don't go in the closet. Then like 15min later I see that little bitch jump out of the closet. A few leaf tips were chewed off so I just cut them with a clean blade.

But yeah they let you know if they want it. Hell even Enoch after he had the first cookie he would try and grab them out of our hands after that. They can smell that baked weed very good.

Animals luv it. I have 4 dogs and I pulled males the other day. I set them on the floor in the hallway, by the time I got back they were all stripped. Just watch ur stash after they get a taste cuz they will help themselves. They even luv to chew stocks.

I've read about animals getting marijuana and becoming very sick, but I imagine they were eating raw marijuana. Cool story about it helping save that dog!

Yeah I know, as soon as my closet opens they are over there trying to get in while I water. My bengal (wild hybrid) paces in front of it like it is prey she is stalking.

you shoulda game him a new name ....MJ

for michael jackson of course ;)

also thats a warm story and all but when an animal is starving itself and ready to die at the pound (old age esp), your not doing it a favor by 'rescuing' it. the favor would be to let the pound euthanize it. you basically tortured the poor thing. i think he ate the old people, thats why their not responding.
