Mephisto Strawberry Nuggets harvest and dry/cure

These were grown by a friend of mine; they spent their last week here and were nailed with an additional dose of 10,000k T5 lighting. They were green fire plugs; densest colas I’ve ever seen. The trim took maybe an hour and they are in the Cannatrol at the beginning of the 8 day dry/cure cycle. They will stay in the Cannatrol for a few days in the hold cycle too since they are so dense.

they were trimmed from the bottom up - the last pictures below are the main colas after the bottom stuff was chopped.

We took a baseline measurement so we can compare wet vs dry weight and get a ratio on the moisture loss. Couple of engineers gotta have data to review and manipulate…

These made it thru the 4-day dry and 4-day cure cycles earlier this week, and have been on the hold cycle for the last few days. The colas held a good deal of their volume, and the total weight is 8.3 oz. Not bad for indoor autos that were like little green fireplugs…dense and sticky as hell when they went in the Cannatrol, and not quite as dense, but even stickier now…

The Cannatrol,is the best investment I’ve made in this hobby - set and forget it…

Thanks - I normally buck them down a bit more before they go in the Cannatrol, but the central colas were so dense decided to just let them be. Cannatrol claims part of the dry/cure process is the development of a shellack on the surface of the buds that locks in the terpenes. We’ll validate that when the bigger colas get bucked down in the next couple days before going into extended cure/final storage in CVaults with Boveda humidity control packs. Should be a fragrant final trim…
