I got a meyer lemon from lowes a couple months ago and transplanted it into a fabric pot. it was outside for a couple of moths before it started to get into the 40s a few weeks ago. the leaves never really looked so good they were kind of curled up. i thought it would just go away but it didnt. after it started getting kind of cold some leaves have fallen off and now it doesnt look really good. it is starting to bud and i have read that they bud in reaction to stress. i guess i just have no idea what i am doing right or wrong i just want some lemons:roll:

im no expert in lemon trees but i have had a small intrest in getting one. sounds like your pretty much right though. lemon trees are a tropical plant so 40's are a little cool for them but even in mexico the temps can easily drop down to the 40's at night sometimes...just get it warmed up and it should bounce back.

on a plus note from the readings i have done the blossoms of a lemon tree will make your house smell good :) hope you find a better answer to your question than mine m8 and hope your lemon tree pulls through :)

Living down in FL is nice. i've got one here if you want some pictures i'll take em tomorrow! It's about 6 1/2 ft tall maybe and it makes the best snack with a little salt :)

40s should not hurt it. Meyer should be OK into the 30s for short periods. Mine currently lives very well in a window that faces West. you have no already done so, you should probably put in larger pot. Get some standard "Citrus" fertilizer an you should be good. They can take a LOT of abuse.

forty temps won't hurt you lemon. don't expect much growth until spring then it should take off. keep an eye out for pest as they can be bug magnets. GL
