With the advancements in LED's, induction, plasma etc., I'm just curious to see what people feel is the absolute best light for growing these days?

PS. I mean artificial light, I know the sun is still the best light source for growing.

Thanks for starting up this poll. I'm interested to see what the trend is. :dunce: Can you post any information on induction and plasma? :peace:

Metal halide for veg

Hps for flowering ..

If you're doing a micro grow obviously cfl would be best for the size

So what im saying is different strokes for different folks , what works for one person might not work for the next guy

I have used mh for full growth cycles. And hps/cfl combos. Yet to try led or plasma but I'd Have to say yield and lumen output wise the hps wins hand down. Unfamiliar with plasma but I hear led technology just isn't there yet in an affordable price range at least to mimic hps results. I also was kinda suprised the actual lumen output for a 400watt hps conversion bulb is less. I wonder with a mh ballast if it the same.......

WOW, I thought for sure CMH would have taken the lead, its a known fact that CMH produces a much better/fuller spectrum than both MH/HPS, I think its because CMH isn't mainstream enough, too many growers who swear by HPS and not willing to try something different, however its not exactly a bad thing IMHO, because that means not many people are using CMH and not taking advantage of better spectrum & benefits, so when I get my CMH + HPS setup going not many people will be producing results like me, It'll be real nice to walk into a collective and drop down a pound of bud that makes their jaws drop, not to mention all their customers will be asking for my strain, not really a bad thing at all with you look at it like that. Some of you might be thinking, "WOW, how arrogant of him", however please don't mistake my confidence for arrogance, I've seen what CMH can do and I know how to achieve INCREDIBLE RESULTS, I just don't have the space & all of the equipment yet, this is my passion in life, I've set my sights on a goal and through hell or high water eventually I will see it though, patience can be a very rewarding virtue, I just wish I had more of it, LOL!
