MH or HPS

Hello to all....quick question hope someone can assist...I have 3 plants in siol 1 is 5-6 wks old the other 2 are about 3-4 Now the problem....I believe the larger is ready to switch over 12-12 to flower but the others are not quite ready I have only 1 reflector but 2 bulbs both 400 watt 1 hps & 1 mh What should/can I do I have some cfls but feel the drop down might not be good for the smaller ones Currently been on a 18-6 cycle and all plants are healthy and responding well to Peter's dynamic duo. The strain is a hybrid with avg height of 90-130 cm Right now the larger is hust over 12 inches...thanks in advance if you can help me! Cheers!

Supercrop the big one and let the younger ones get to height. The flower with hps.

I am a total noob....what is supercrop? Is it like fimming? I just gave a dose of classic and bloom booster I heard that it's good to start of that way....I am afraid of how big it's getting cuz I have heard they double in size when flowering...ty for your reply too!!

Supercrop is when you pinch branches and bend them down to keep an even, short canopy.
So I assume you do this from the bottom....what I've been reading on the subject, sounds a bit scary to bend and crack the branch....I don't want to harm the plant it's just so pretty and big!! lol Also could you tell me where I bend it down cuz I don't relly have a grasp of this technique....thanks for your help!!

Do you have pics of your plant?

It's basically the same principal as LST, for lazy people. I supercrop.

You can do it from the main branch. The main trick is pinching the stalk where you're going to bend it, making sure it's nice and loose. I pinch it from every way, just hard enough to feel it break under the skin.

You'll be able to get the hang of not breaking it, and if you break it a little it'll usually be fine, if it's a hard break you can use tape. If it's a complete break you may be able to tape it, I've never tried (never had it happen).

You can find how-to vids on youtube or wherever.

Thanks but I know that....my delemia is the plants are a differing stages and I only have 1 reflector....if I switch to hps won't the smaller ones start to flower as well? They are barely 1 month old but doing well, at about 9 inches at this moment...the larger is over 12 and starting preflowers....any ideas?

They will flower regardless of the type of light if you give them 12/12 photoperiod. MH is best for veg and HPS for flowering but if you flower them all at once using both bulbs will be fine, some would say better than just a HPS

I would like to do that but only have 1 relector with 1 sockect....so I guess it's best to drop down to 12/12? I have been on a 18/6 for most of the time, I have heard 24/0 doesn't really increase growth that much...and I don't want the landlord freaking on me for electricity overuse....I do have my licence but they have been less than helpful, actually delaying my application....told me in June that they were assessing it with risk mngmt and that it would take 4-6 wks.....3 months later, not a peep! LOL Asif I will wait for them to start growing!! lmao
