Microscope shots!

All taken with the Veho USB Digital Microscope. For observing trichomes, I would highly recommend it. These are Macro shots for the unit, the true micro would show each and every trichome along with their color and texture. Here is an example of its utility in determining ripeness. Fresh cut sample of Confidential Cheese to determine readiness:

This sample, obviously, was about 2 weeks from ripeness. Anyway, I love the Veho microscope!!!

Nice work. Do you happen to know what magnification setting your at? To me that's about perfect. You can see a wide area of trichomes which I think is more important then focusing on just a few, like you would using a pocket scope. And for $65 that's not bad deal at all.

Another question, how do you like the stand? Is it stable and does it adjust good?
To be perfectly honest, the stand isn't very stable, and it is starting to loosen and there in no place to tighten it. The stand, and connection to the stand, are the only improvements I would recommend. I still can't complain, however, heck I see the stand as a luxury!! I don't know the exact magnification of these shots, I'm very sorry. Most of the further away shots would be around 50-70X. The one's that are really close are 100x-200x. That's what is really cool about this microscope, the focus is determined by how far the lens are from the material. Hard to explain, hope it makes sense.

Is that kens grand daddy purp?????
No, that is a commercial batch of GDP that made its way down to Alabama somehow. I didn't grow that, that one is the only pic I didn't grow. I've been wanting to try Ken's GDP badly though, because it fits my medical needs perfectly!!

You mentioned cutting a bud off to check for ripeness. This camera would enable you to leave the bud on the plant and inspect in real time as its growing as not to damage the plant. Would it not? Does it give you a live video feed with the ability to capture video? Portable (wireless)?

Where there's a will there's a way my friend. One would still be able to find a way to leave that bud intact to the plant if they wanted to.. Leaving it on would cause less stress to that nug would = more weight in the end.. Unless of course they were running low and needed their smoke-To each their own. Just my opinion. If your just gonna use it to determine ripeness why not get a cheap handheld for $15 60-100x. As you can place the microscope up to the bud which makes the image steady and easy to view.

Which would be great for harvesting in stages according to ripeness. So the top buds go first then over the next few weeks as buds mature they are harvested. Which means you don't get 5 different grades of bud.. Just top shelf A&B buds. After all have you ever seen a flowering plant have all it's fruits ripen all at the same time or rather in stages?
