Military and Growing

I was arrested for possession about 2 weeks ago and in my county someone 17 or 18,19 that is arrested is given the option of joining the military and having the charges dropped and removed from your records or face whatever the judge throws at you. I was curious if anyone else around here is in the military and is growing, or know the full consequences of growing in the military. Anyone have any information on the topic.

The consequences? Yeah don't do it. You have already got caught and you are essentially getting a second chance. You shoot yourself in the foot and get a bad conduct discharge you are fucked for life. My advice is quit while your ahead, do your service get out with some training and an honorable discharge and then start growing again.

how much was the possession for? Don't join the military for some bullshit charge. Just take your punishment. But when you say know the consequences of growing in the military, do you mean like growing in your closet at boot camp or what?

The oldest sucker trap in the history of armed conflict. The ranks are filled with poor fools who fall for that one. Recruiting rates are down for a good reason. It isn't just ski-ing holidays and parachute jumps for fun any more.
It isn't invading Grenada anymore.
You are condemning yourself (and your loved ones) to a potential death sentence. Move to Canada.

Do you people re-read the shit you type afterwards? Move to Canada, give me a break. Easy for you to say, your not the one on the fence here. None of you sound like you have any military experience at all.

dont try and grow while your in the military... bad idea. Do like superfly said and youll be alright. Either that or take your punishment.. which will probably have you wishing you would have joined the military.

Well it was under an ounce, more around half. The case and everything seems to be taken care of, but in this small town I*m in, getting caught was actually a blessing. It got me out of my dead end job and away from the community college that would of toke forever for me to finish. Once the option for the military idea came into I really thought about it, and to only have to do it for 4 years, and get a degree from a much better school, as well as all the benefits the military receives.

The way I figured it though, was once I went through bootcamp and was stationed at a permanent location. Got an apartment off the base, where bills were seperate from housing expense, it would be alright.

Also the only reason I was arrested in the first place, was my passenger through it out the window when they were right behind us instead of tuckin it. In Georgia the driver is given the charges regardless of whose it is.

I do have experience with the military, and my advice is to not join and take your punishment and go on with life, less than an ounce in Georgia is a misdemeanor according to NORML....at first you'll never be able to afford an apartment on your military salary unless you're married with kids or have a few roommates, not somewhere that you would feel safe growing anyway, and you sure as hell wouldnt want to start a garden in a roommate situation unless you are living with people you can trust, and I dougt all your good friends are gonna move to whatever shithole you'll be stationed at...random drug testing in the military you will not be able to avoid...and if you ever get convicted of a crime while serving you will do the whole sentence that is given to you, no getting out early for good behavior...DO NOT let the judge scare you into doing something as stupid as joining the military when (if you havent been in alot of trouble before) you will more than likely get probation anyways...spend your money on a lawyer and do not use a public pretender...

Besides, if you join up, you will probably be shipped off somewhere and be living in a tent in the desert somewhere, or sleeping on a boat/sub with a dude above you and below, and you'll be wishing you would have gone to jail.

I do think that the military has alot of really good benefits for someone who really wants to join and take advantage of the different programs that they offer, but if you are forced to join you'll more than likely hate every minute of it...just a few of my thoughts, good luck

Is the airforce that bad? Ha. I have an uncle in it, really enjoys it from what I know. He's been in 12-14years not sure, but has been to japan, italy, korean and some other places.

The situtation i*m in though is that the case is taken care of. My step-dad is a cop, his dad is a cop, his grand-dad was a cop, and i*m in a small town. So its getting taken care of, but there is NO oppurtunity in this place. I*ve got to do something. Where this is heading is I was just curious about the militaries policies towards marijuana and growing. If anyone had done it or any other information.

OK, chances are you are not going to get your own place off base right out of bootcamp. You will be a E-1, E-2 and normally they don't allow privates and pfc's BAH (Basic allowance for Housing) unless your married. So you will be living in the barracks. Also, you will no doubt have a roomate. So unless your roomate is on-board with you growing in the room (which I highly doubt because if you get burned he is going to go with you) thaat isnt going to happen. Your room will be inspected once a week, on average, for generally cleanliness. If the inspecting officer even thinks something isnt Kosher they will turn the room out.

If you want to keep growing and smoking do not join the military.

Well, I was fine with your dillema untill I heard all your ancestors were cops. I would have offered you some advice, but you are basically one of them. When someone gets off because their daddy was a cop, It doesn't sit right with me, you should do more time than a regular citizen. I am so tired of this relative to a cop priveledge shit I could puke. If you did the crime, you should do the time. So don't expect any sympathy from me. I say that growing and posessing small amounts shouldn't be a crime anyway, but getting off because your daddy is a cop should be.

Jealous much? Only ignorant people turn down a get out of jail free card, even though I was locked up for the night. I*m just here to find out info about the military and growing. If anyone has problems pm me, lets not clutter the boards more then they are with nonsense.

Me jealous of a cops brat, ~LOL~ that is a good one. I just think you should not get a pass because your daddy was a cop. You are the one that started this nonsense. Stand up and take your medicine like a man, quit sniveling, Waaaahhhhh!

Ha you thank I ran to him? He is the one that claimed marijuana ruined lives of people my age by not letting get into college or find decent jobs because a drug conviction on their records. I didn*t care. My real dad was arrested for the same thing when he was younger and is doing fairly well for himself now. I didn*t think it was that big of deal, but with him being a cop for so long and "seeing how it ruins lives" I just went with it.

Can a mod close this thread up, its going no where fast.

The only thing I can say is that if you had thoughts of joining a the military, you probably would have entertained them before being arrested. Trying to avoid punishment is no reason to join. In fact, its a disgrace to those who are there simply to give there lives for a cause they believe in. Its an ounce man, you wont be going to jail. Take your parole, finish junior college, and if you want to go to another school, take out some student loans and go. Nothing in life is free, and the military pays for school because of what they take from you. For many people, thats a large price than they realize.

Its not that often your given a break in life. Is it my fault that my mum married this man and he just happens to be able to get me out of trouble? Anyone of you that were given a chance to stay out of trouble if busted would take it. Atleast the smart ones would. Its prison time in Georgia even for just one small plant. Its up to a year just for possession under an ounce. Shits weak.
