Mini fridge grow box

I am looking to turn my mini fridge into a single plant grow box. What I need to know is if an interior dimension of 16x16x28 will be big enough.

The bottom has a lip towards the back which takes up about 7 in running the length of the floor. That's why it varies from 28 in to 21 in.

Ideally I'd like to have a small hydroponic system, but I don't know if 28" would be enough room.

I have figured out that I would need to create small carbon filter fans using something similar to computer fans since they are so low profile. Is there a light that would work best for such a small space?

Also, is there any benefit to leaving the refrigerator operational to help temperature control/cooling?

Here's the type of air filter I was thinking about.

In regards to why, mostly because I have one and it is airtight. I've modified one before as a kegerator, and I know what they can and can't do.
I'm only looking to grow one, maybe two plants at a time, so space isn't really too much of a concern.
Also, because the mini fridge does not run on a condenser like a normal full-sized fridge does, you do not have to worry about the excess moisture created when it cools. Whether or not having the ability to cool or not is beneficial, is another topic that I would love an answer to.
I am relatively new to growing, but I do plan on testing a few methods before I build out the final grow box.

You're gong to put in all this energy, months of work, to yield 2 ounces? How tall is the inside of the fridge?

Do yourself a favor and plug that mini fridge in and put some drinks in it or something. You are going to spend a lot of time, energy, and possibly money into something that will give you fits and make you hate it. Then you have a mini fridge with holes and shit in it that is of no use taking up space in the garage.

I converted a mini wine fridge a long time ago. It worked but, like the others said, it is alot of work for a small return.
Was a fun project, and still use it for seedlings.

It's for personal use, and quite frankly 2-3oz is likely all I'd need or want every 6 months or so.

I understand that I won't grow 5' plants with 12" colas as thick as my wrist, but I'm perfectly fine with that. I'm looking at it as an in between PC desktop and normal grow tent.

In a word, NO

28" would be ok for seedlings or clones but that's it

I’ve seen some impressive micro grow cabinets in the past. Ran the idea of building one from a fridge before, for fun.

Gave up before acquiring the mini fridge lol. I’m following this thread to see what ya end up doing!
