Minimum Box Size Requirements

I have been browsing around these forums and have not been able to find any measurements for the smallest boxes available.

I am thinking about using a 5 gallon DWC hydro system, with a 200W CFL Grow Bulb.

This means the bucket is ~1.5' tall, light is ~6" and the plant would hopefully be somewhere around 1.5' tall.

If I were to LST the plant, would it be possible to grow in a box 2.5'x2.5'x3.5'?

you put in a screen in there and do a scrog grow you could prolly fit it ok...

no plant is going to grow only 1.5', unless it's lowrider (and thats even stretching it)

but you don't need a 5 gallon bucket to grow such a small plant

you could probably fit a 2gal dwc much better in there too...

Is 2 gallons going to require much more attention than a 5 gallon dwc?

any hydroponic system is going to take alot of TLC

I understand that and have no problem with it, but is 2 gallons going to be too small, or is it possible to work with?

no, 2 gal. won't be too small... check out the comp. we're doin all doing dwc in 1 LITER of water!!!! HAHA, now THATS gonna take some upkeep

but no, a 2gal bucket won't be much harder except for more frequent top-offs... just make sure you have an EC meter and a PPM meter!

Good luck with your liter competition.

And do I need EC+PPM meter, I thought PPM meters were EC meters that convert to PPM.

Oh, I beg to differ. Check my gallery. 13" tall.

As for the poster, with such limited height, I'd go scrog. And, as a matter of fact, I am planning that now.

Focus on the math of it.
How big your is your space per sq ft
Then you focus on light output. Youll need roughly 8000 lumans per sq ft to have no worries. Good reflection gives you the other 2000 lumans. Then youll technically have a sun in your box. Lol and sunglasses comr in handy if you need to look in there with the lights on.

Lst outward and flat through veg.
In flowering let it go up on its own...
