O.K. .. I've lurked here for a month or so and I've decided to give it a shot. I'm only growing for personal use so I'm going to grow 2 plants at a time. I'll clone a female when I get one and go from there. I finished my modifications today to my closet.

I added a pulley system so it will be really easy to lower/raise my hood. Here it is.

I added a powerstrip to the top of my hood and duct taped it in place. I plug all of the bulb cords into this one strip.

I have a small fan blowing and it's really nice and cool. Plus I live alone so I can always leave the door open to circulate fresh air.

I have 2-26 watt (1600 lumen, 6500k) along with 6-20 watt (1150 lumen,6500k) for a total of 10,100 lumens at 6500k. I plan to veg with these and when I flower I'll swith to 8-42 watt (2700 lumen, warm) bulbs. The hood itseld is simply cardboard with ducttape. I painted the inside flat white. Here it is.

Here's a picture of a 5 day old baby loving the extra light.

I have approx $73.00 dollars in the entire setup.

$26.00 in 8 bulbs
$1.00 in 2 splitters
$36.00 in 6 bulb cords
$10.00 in hardware

I had the cardboard, tape, rope, and powerstrip here at home. Thoughts?

Hey whats going on?
First thing they are good ideas but I would get reid of the cardboard hood, it will dry out and be a bid risk of starting on fire:fire:. The other thing is you don't need to wire each light to one outlet plug, you can pigtell them to one another black to black white to white ect. You also can get y spliters 1=2 bulbs. here I will try to show you a pic of one that I did.

I agree, nice set up , but, get rid of the card board and the plug looks unsafe. Other than that, VERY NICE...

Good Luck !!
