should be noted the 3x3 is 86x86cm inside, there are tents sold as 3x3 beeing up to 25% bigger.

almost 2 weeks in in 12/12.
all looking good, upped the food to 1.5 and the runoff is now 1.8, cocos chips.
P1050122.JPG
a good 700ppfd at about 200W, added a little 660nm red today.
P1050121.JPG

maybe one have a idea here ?, the new growth is a tad too yellow and take a little too long to green up.
i have some ideas, but maybe one knows better, not very dramatic but would like to know.
P1050120.JPG
PH in is 5.8-6 and out is 6.2.
temps are 25-28C over day and RH is 55-65.

I keep coming back to look at those photos above. Just wow! Some of those older fans down below are just so huge. Do not know what to say about the lighter newer growth. To me it looks as expected from plants that are working in overdrive to go budding. See lots of young flowers coming up.

I defer to your skill and experience.

thanks Tunnel, do love the color of these too and enjoy the huge leaves with many fingers.
am sure you can do this too!

way more "indica" then my previous gelato.
all are quite uniform, not like clones, but you clearly can see its the same parents, well done sweet seeds.

hoping i can keep them this green for a bit.
i slightly struggle, these plants are new to me and things going a bit different this time.

few weeks ago she had quite low runoff, so i went higher.
EC 1 to maybe 1.2 didnt made it and 1.3 to 1.5 seemed better.
always had the feeling magnesium is missing, so added also more.
i dont pour tablespoons in to them, but i raised the mg baseline quite a bit to over 50ppm for sure.
it puzzles me a bit that she seems still hungry for mg, so i thought of other important micros as mg and sulfur should be covered.
i do have a bottle amino acids with Fe,Zn and the other usual micros, organically chelated, so i gave a bit.
would think the chlorophyl important micros are covered now.
PH is absolute in range and never had been a sorrow in cocos chips, out is pretty much always 6.2 spot on.
i do have some salt buildup now, EC in of 1.5 gives 1.8 to 2 out.
so i made a half assed flush today down to 1.6 runoff.
no real clue if my problem is EC, PH or ratio related.

sure to some degree its normal that the new growth is yellow, but its a bit too much.

This is like sex . God my god are the planes landing soon?

Love the light man total killer the red chips
"48 660nm leds, driven by a HLG 40 driver / or 72 660nm by a 60W HLG.
12 730nm leds
12 360-370nm leds"

What did you settle on in the end im reading through 34 pages haha wow. I cant find 660 on strips? Did u make them custom from mono leds?. Is there a ratio you go for im trying to find and seems 15% of the light you use. Im 900w max so 100ish watt reds i guess.
Do you play with 730 after lights for a few mins on a timer seperate ?

I wana add this to my strip bxeb 3500k lights

thanks man,
yep the 660nm are made custom from 3535 monos, pro light opto is the maker of the leds, not chinese but a league below cree or osram,
took many and underdrivem them heavily, theyre for sure above 3ppfd a watt.
not sure what is on the market there atm.
10 to 15% is what i normally use, i would say that amount is quite harmless and never caused me problems (and is about the number stated here on RIU more often, think captain morgan did tests there).
more could be good also! i just had no time to try a grow going real heavy with the reds, so as long you have the 660nm on a dimmer youre free to play anyway.

I think prolight got a new model with xpg like efficiency. 500mW output at nominal 350mA. Quite cheap as well at tme

this is a Gelato mother i nursed back to life.
i have her in 7 gallons of a regular prefertilized peat based soil mix in the little smaller 3x3 tent.
added a half cup organic fertilizer pellets and there is also a cup worm casting in the soil.
lets call it halforganic.
some bennies and once a compost tea.
otherwise i just watered her, seldon and not really much, no runoff.

P1050142.JPG

lets see if soil is working for me, mainly i want to find out if there is a taste difference for me.
i just grew a Gelato in Cocos in this tent before, same genetics, so this test will may tell me something.
its pretty lazy growing this way so far, lets see what problems will come up.
its long a go i grew in soil.

soil plant is doing fine, need some cleanup and should go 12/12, need to install a second net.
P1050146.JPG

the do sweet dos are fine also, almost 4 weeks on 12/12.

quite nice plant.
200W mainlight and 20W 660nm reds, wont go higher as last time i ran in to troubble at about 240W, 220W are quite stressy allready for them.
EC is quite high, runoff is a EC a good 2, in is 1.5, normally the zone where i see leaves starting to burn a little.

quite impressed how easy the soil grow went so far, really no work to do, just water, which is automated anyway.
looking nice and healthy, last day veg, 12/12 from 27.
hard to say but would guess she runs on the organic fertilizer pellets now.
P1050152.JPG
so far grewn under 70W, now went to 110W , 3000k.

Seems like she has a lot of potential, judging by growing points/tips. Its great to be seeing two tents running. As the single plant flowers, would be good to look back at your amazing gelato grow from late last year/early this year(?). Is this the mother of those gelato clones or just an aunt from same pack? I keep forgetting.

do like to run 2 tents also the same time, just hope it dont get too rainy as 2 tents in flower can be a humidity problem, hope its getting cold when i harvest as then i have dry air from the outside.

not sure, the grow before the last was another pheno i think.
its at least the very same genetics as the last run in cocos with mineral salts in this tent, in total i kept 2 gelatos and skipped one in the meantime.
so you can compare well to the last grow in the 3x3, all the same just medium and fertilizer are changed and i plan to give a few more watts, if they take it.
