OK I finally got around to trying my experiment using red lava as a soil supplement. I also added the bio-char (ashes) from the WOG branches from last years tree. The lucky plant is the Mulanje x MozPoz Bubblegum #1 (MuMoBG#1).

I used a sledge hammer and pulverized some red lava rock into sizes ranging from dust up to pea sized particles. Some of the lava looked like iron inside - grey and shiny - and it was hard to break.

I made my usual 5 gallon bucket but with more holes and then I filled the bottom with:

big red lava rocks>pumice>Subs SS mixed with more pumice>PromixBX with pumice>red lava dirt>WOG ash

We will see what happens!

I also transplanted the Holy Smokes Mulanje Gold #2 into a 50/50 SS 7 gallon smartie and tied it down for Mainlining (8 so far).

Topped the Marion Berry and Scotts OG for 8 also. Planted the clippings in with the shaded strawberries.

Fully assembled experiment:

I usually love the rain and the happiness it brings to my garden. However, when I am working on an outside project with electric power tools and standing on the top of my ladder I do not appreciate the rain as much.

I seriously hope that one day we can meet and get to know each other so I can check out your friggin awesome yard!!! :)

Looking great! I do have a question for you... do you get many aircraft overhead in your area. I would go outdoors but I am in a flight path and get a half dozen helicopters overhead a day. I would end up with a knock and talk more often than it's worth, I think.

Monsoon rain - hot and muggy tropical storms that travel up from Mexico through Arizona.

It never rains in Southern California - it pours.....man it pours :)

Jiggy got it real bad yesterday up in the mountains - they had hail!

Picked up some gravel and more blocks to set the foundation for the remainder of the greenhouse beams. The wall on the side is not square to the back wall so the last two beams on that end will be interesting.

After the beams are all done in that direction I will start on the door and west wall. Those will require many custom cuts.

OK - I finally dedicated an evening to getting some clippings going for the pheno hunt. Not sure what I will do with them (sun or bulb).

Found a couple males while I was playing in the branches.

Thanks FMILY - How you doing?

How is your tree coming along? Did it miss you? Did you get any of that storm?

Cheers,

All is well Mo, thanks! My plants that are in the ground are doing great. Its the plants I have in pots that are yellowing a little, only because they are hungry. They got fed and should bounce back quickly!

I am wondering how far away we are from each other, I am in Riverside County, far east side. I am thinking about 2 to 3 weeks the monster will be flowering. Last year it was around the first 2 weeks of August when my outdoor started to flower.

The cup was alright, would have been better if they didn't throw it all together in a few hours because LA kept jerking them around. I felt so bad for the vendors outside the smoking area, it really brought me down to see how desperate they were to sell merchandise in such a shitty area. TGA booth was bad ass though, can't wait for next year when they got everything straight.

Mo it's looking very nice. I don't know how I missed this thread of yours. I know I'm going to see some nice plants now. Peace.
