mold during curing

so i had to leave for 2 days , when i returned i noticed very small amount of a whiite fuzzy mold on a few small nugs inside of the jar .. i picked the bud apart & got out all the mold with a toothpick , and am now letting them rest outside of the jar on some paper .. they were very moist when i noticed this & now they are nice & dry , i think i will let them chill out on the paper the rest of today ,, my question is ,, is that ok >?? i know smokin mold is not good , but i belive i got it all out ... mold wont grow on buds that are out on paper drying will it ??

you got all the visible mold, theres no way you could have gotten all the mycelium or spore.

well good new bad news, to keep the mold out your gonna hafto dry it farther than u normaly would, if you have an ozone generator you can use that to get all the mold once its broken apart, it wont degrade the weed but it will remove almost any trace of potlike smell.

this will kill the active mycelium it can reach as well as all the spores.

and while ingestion of mycotoxins is never good, mostly youll just get an unpleasant taste, kind of an acrid sort of spicyness, hard to describe.
asthmatics shouldnt smoke any, not even a little as it will almost deff trigger an attack, some headaches may occur.

never put wet bud in an enclosed jar.

i had a few buds go bad on me about 8 g's was gonezo cause of that mold that looks like dense spider web. the buds get really moist when torn apart. i picked the mold out as well but since spores are so tiny it all grew back so i chucked it all

it wasnt wet , it was right where it needed to be , but the thing was , i had to leave for a few days , & left the jars closed without burping them ,, which caused this problem .. thanks for the info , i dont have an ozone gen

I have the same problem for the same reason. I've got mine sitting on mesh in the sun, and will keep them under my ionizer over night methinks. Shit situation, mine was in a quart jar and it was for 3 days... 24g of bud :/

If your bud molded it was because it wasn't dry enough when you started curing that is a fact
Not burping your jar for two days would not cause regular dry weed into moldy weed i'm sorry
If it was right where it needed to be as you put it it would not have molded plain and simple

yea i need to second that, if it was dried properly before you put it in the jar then it wouldnt have grown mold. as far as the buds that had mold on them, instead of scraping the mold off and spreading it around everywhere, cut off the pieces with mold and toss them.
