So I fluffed up a two bales of coco about a week ago, added 20% perlite place it into pots (actually gro bags)

the pots have been sitting for about a week now, and the coco was staying wet.

a couple of days ago it started to dry out.

there are no plants in the pots, and no plants growing at all around.

Tonight the pots (bags) all have a blue fuzz that has formed on top of the pots and on the drainage holes.

It resembles dryerlint, but also very spider webby (BUT NOT SPIDER WEBS)
NO BUgs in sight at all.

It is deffintly some kind of a mold type deal.

I am freaking out because this is $80 worth of coco, and its only half of it.

Whats up with my coco, it seems it only happened because it was beggining to dry out.

Can someone please enlighten me, or help!!!

Thanks

I found this thread.

International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums - mold in coco?

A few of the guys there say it is a fungi/mold that occurs naturally on top of coco that gets no air circulation and is exposed to cold night temps.

which makes alot of sense considering my ventialtion setip isnt in place and its in my basement and temps go down to 65degrees at night.

HMMM i am still worried though that this is in some way bad.

there is no way it is salt buildup, as the coco has never seen nutes, and got fluffed up and flushed using distilled water.
