moms ebb and flow do i need to trim the roots

the roots on my mother plants have grown to cover 5 times larger area than the pots are,do i need to trim the roots as in soil or can i leave it like that,also they aer covered with algae do i need to clean them

you can trim roots I do it once a month.... My moms are all in soil though. As for the Algae, it shouldnt matter much. I would clean the algae ones first, Good luck!
