Actually it was a destroyed knee and the state made me file since I was on state funded medical insurance. They covered my knee surgery and hospital stay, 100%. Not a penny out of my pocket. Pretty good deal, if you ask me.
Did you know your disability award amount is based on how much you contributed while you worked? That's kind of why they call it "insurance". People who work and pay into an "insurance" plan get taken care of if there is ever a need. You wouldn't know anything about this though.

I don't have disability anymore. PTSD is temporary and I was reevaluated after I told them I was doing much better as a result of quitting drinking four and a half years ago and that I don't need it anymore. I will say though, if it weren't for my service connected 100% to take so much stress away, I would not be alive now. I take my meds and I enjoy my work.
