More pistils on my buds than leaves?

I wonder if it's some kind of mutant. I'm also on my first grow, but I've never seen a pic that looks like that.

There are several things that cause that, you need to research and compare each one to what you have and did to narrow it down. The five most likely scenarios for your buds ending up airy are improper lighting, (watts, type and distance from plants), too high or too low temperature, (65 to 80f), nutrients, (changes depending on grow medium), poor airflow,(fans and filter), or root problems, ( too small of container) and if it is a Sativa heavy strain. Without knowing the specifics of the grow a picture isn't going to narrow it down.

Are those trichomes on the fan leaves or do you have bugs or something? I just got rid of some spider mites but it looks different. I could be wrong they just look weird.

Welcome @Kenny.G92 to Roll It Up. Just for fun, you might have more than one issue. Lighting makes a lot of sense. You might have had just enough for veg but flowering likes lots more light and then it became obvious. The "trichomes" that @Moldy notes and the spots on the leaves are probably a different issue. Could be insects or maybe a grow issue where the pH was off.

I would just chop it when the trichomes get to where you want, dry it and make it into oil, edibles etc and start a new plant. i would not want to spend any more time on that one. It isn't a total loss, just a learning experience. I just grow for my own use and enjoy the fun of growing, but I am old, retired and bored, lmao

Anyone think that coukd he early foxtailing? To hot?
Precisely what I thought.
I have seen that here only a few times and I own two cheap 280w chinese lights with which I’ve grown mostly beautiful plants.
And I’m not in the camp that considers foxtailing a total loss. Unless your selling, bag appeal is a non issue. And every two pistils mean one calyx, and the calyx is what it’s all about - the tiny bags of resin that we crave.
Next grow, do something different that seems logical - cooler temps or light further away. Never panic. Cannabis is among the most adaptable plants on the planet. Enjoy your harvest.
