I recently bought a root spa type DWC, i was wondering if i could cut holes in a lid and put 2-4 smaller net pots in for smaller plants?

'Should you' is a better question. 1 plant is going to fill up an area wider than the bucket, so unless your making a cloner or something, this probably isn't a good idea.

I was growing 4 plants in a single DWC tub for about a year- trouble is the roots will entangle each other into a giant mass rootball eventually. Plus when there's an issue with the res like bacteria it affects all of them. It is possible to transplant later but it will be a pain in the ass. I was going to do this & separate them into buckets but the root ball was too big to go back through the 6" netpot hole...left them til harvest. Then root rot set in & caused all kinds of issues- that's why I switched to NFT/aero

I had planned on doing what you did midnite. I was then going to put each into there own DWC bucket. Then again I dont want them to merge and take over the town. (Great movie idea. spoof on the blob... maybe THE CULTURED BALL ATE GRANNIE, OK the name needs work.) anyway that sounds like a headache I dont need at the moment... Suppose ill just try one plant to one pot. Ive been growing in soil and thought id try to expand my horizens.
