Mother of Berry Scrog update

I have the same freebie from attitude..maybe it is just a seed version of the mob but not as he as the clone only obviously ?bit like blue dream clone only but can get seed form from hso ?
Yea I remember Blue Dream. For a while that's all I was smoking. I know it is possible to take the plant and make it throw banana's so you get female seeds. It could also be that someone attempted to bread the same parents.

Either way that is awesome! I checked for them at that site and couldn't find them so maybe they only had them for a limited time. In any case I would do everything in my power to keep that strain if you can. Clone it like crazy because, it will make you very happy. It has a stronger Blueberry scent than regular Blueberry and is stronger. The guy I worked for had it tested and it came out with 24% THC. As you can see from my plant it bushes out a lot.

The plants we grew had nice chunky solid nuggets. The buzz is amazing. When it is grown right it will make you say "I am all set". I have smoked for more than 35 years and I couldn't finish the bowl.

Can't wait to see pictures when they start growing. Feel free to post them here because, I really want to check it out.
Happy Growing

My friends have been going mad for blue dream i grew outdoors recently

We have made it to week 3 yea!
I got rid of a bunch of junk yesterday. A couple of days ago I noticed some rust spots on the middle leaves. Looks like cal-mag issue so I gave her just a little a couple of days ago. Still looks like she is having trouble today with cal or mag. I flushed with 6.8 ph water and added the appropriate dose of cal-mag this time. She is still flowering and looks healthy otherwise. Smelling a lot like Blueberry now. Very dank sweet smell in the morning.
P7170006.JPG P7170011.JPG P7170014.JPG P7170021.JPG
Starting to fill in nicely if I might say so myself. Getting puffy. I would upload a pic of the leaf but, it doesn't show up under this light with the camera. There are a few that have rust colored spots and the tips looks burned. As far as I can tell this is either calcium of magnesium. I just hope I caught it fast enough so she can finish.
She has 3 to 5 weeks left. Any thoughts on weather or not she will make it. I will upload the pic but, you probably can't see the spots. P7170013.JPG
I know a lot of times with cannabis it can loose pretty much all of it's leaves and still finish flowering. If the flush didn't work then I don't know if she will finish correctly. Got nice clear runoff just not a whole lot of it. Could just be that I have not been watering enough. We will see.
I also added some lines today to help support these heads. I think next time I will try to build a double SCROG. With the lines I have a partial double SCROG. Well until next week.
Happy growing everyone.

Flush update:
Well I have put about 4 gallons of 6.8 to 70 water through her so far and the run off is coming out at 5.0 shit!! I have added lime about a month ago so it should be doing something. I guess I will just keep running it through her. She does not seem to be suffering from any ill effects yet from all this water. I may have to break down and buy a good flush solution or something. Any ideas?

Super happy today. My last runoff yesterday came out at 5.6 so that is good. The flush got my soil to 6.5 which is awesome because before it seemed very alkaline. The brown spots seemed to have slowed if not stopped. If I continue to see them I might add a little cal mag. The last gallon of water I put through her I added a half tablespoon of dolimite lime crushed into a fine powder. I figure that will also provide some calcium and magnesium.

So now I guess I just wait and watch. No watering until tomorrow. I think I will not put anymore Tiger Bloom or Big Bloom in. That stuff is strong and with no way for me to check PPM so I really don't know what my soil has left in it.

Buds are still developing very nicely. :)

So here we are in week 4. Glad she is still alive. Got a bunch of pics but, will try to keep it down to a few. Let me know what you think. She seems to be building more. I dressed the top with lime and gave her some more Big bloom.
Here is a top shot.
P7240004.JPG
Here is a close up of the right front corner. You can see the signs of the calcium deficiency that I have been trying to correct. Hence adding the lime again. Stupid soil probes suck.Test run off instead or, send a sample to a real lab. The probe said alkaline but, run off says the opposite. Oh but, sometimes the probe works and it gave me a 6.0. So a big waste of money.

And finally the main cola is one the right side along with others.

Ok enough with the bud porn. Hope you enjoyed this weeks pictures. Happy growing everyone :)

Looks super good! If your tops are turning yellow it's either light burn or an immobile nutrient deffeciency. Calcium (Ca), sulfur (S), iron (Fe), boron (B) and copper (Cu) are immobile.
Thank you. Sorry it has been so long I missed this post I guess. Turns out you are correct about it being an immobile element. I believe it was a calcium issue because, started getting brown or rust spots. Turned out to be PH issue again. I am also having an issue with Tiger Bloom because just adding a little makes the water super acidic.
I am trying to stick with just Big Bloom but, the other has more of the micro stuff I might need.
She is starting to recover now. I gave her some compost tea along with molasses to help the bacteria. I also added mycorrhizae which was part of the compost tea.
She is still building the buds so I am happy.

So here are the week 5 pics. Starting to look like she is getting ready to blow out big time. I have started dropping the light by 15 minutes everyday until I get to 10 hours. Have to move soon and gotta finish her up.
P7310001.JPG P7310003.JPG P7310004.JPG P7310005.JPG P7310006.JPG
Starting to get a few orange hairs on this first layer of growth. Can't wait to see her go crazy. Here are some macro shots for those who love the close ups.
P7310010.JPG P7310012.JPG P7310015.JPG
Well that's all for this week. I know the leaves are starting to get pretty messed up. That PH issue really messed with her. She has recuperated however, the stuff that is already messed up will not get any better. As long as the buds keep growing I have a smile on my face.
This grow has been a bit of work but, I know she will reward me in the end.
Happy growing everyone. :)

Can I give you some advice? If your growing organic, make a good soil mix, plant in it, then don't fuck with it! DON'T be adding shit out of a bottle it isn't going to do shit but cause exactly the problems your having. I grow mostly organic, and I grow some beasts. I plant them and I water them, that's it. Save yourself all these headaches and try simple organic soil, you'll love it! my indoor organic grow in the exact same mix as in my greenhouse raised bed, they look like this, a 4ft cola in a three gallon pot:

Here's some info on your MOB. TH Seed's Mother of all Blueberry is actually Highrise Seeds: Maine's Own Blueberry. TH Seeds was given a cutting by Cres. MOB was very popluar locally, till it disappeared. Good to see it carrying on through TH Seeds!

And sorry if I seemed to have come on a bit strong, I've spent three days trying to help a bottle nute junkie straighten out his problems and he's thicker than a brick...lol! Luckily, he's a friend.

Thought I'd post my mix here for you in case you'd like to try it.

My current mixes:
Base:
30% coco coir
50% potting soil
10% cow manure
10% peat

Admix:
60% worm castings
5% Grow More Organic Soil builder ( or any dry, packaged organic nutrient, such as Jobe's )
5% blood meal
10% dolomite lime ( fine ground is best )
15% chicken manure
5% epsom salts

KISS MIX:
60% worm castings
20% boxed " super soil" nutrients, Jobe's Doctor Earth, etc
10% lime
10% epsom salts

Read Spear's mixes:
Base:
35% coco
25% perlite
25% peat
15% compost

mix 2 parts base to one part admix. Cook for 2 weeks to 30 days if mixing large batches, for a gallon or two, just a few days for the lime to work is all that's needed. The KISS mix you can use right away!
Don't get the idea I'm an organic expert, I'm certainly not! But, I do my homework always and never trust just one source! I am however, on a quest as always to sort out the bullshit from the good information. Hope you and those reading this find it helpful.

Also, I no longer use any peat. Peat moss is not a renewable resource, it takes hundreds of years for a peat bog to grow

Awesome! Thank you so much for the great information. My current grow was a mess with the soil but, I have been using all organic products even though it is in a bottle.
The clones that I took from this mom are in Coast of Maine Stonington Blend. http://coastofmaine.com/product/stonington/ So far I am very impressed with this blend. I am not doing anything but, adding water to it.
Also I wanted to let you know that this MOB came from a local grower I worked for. The lights were too close to one of them and it threw a couple banana's. I was very lucky to find a few seeds in the crop while trimming it.
Or was it destiny? I planted 5 of them and got one really strong female. Now I plan on cloning her for as long as I can.
I am hoping to reuse the Coast of Maine soil once I am done. I have some old soil with compost and red wigglers making me some castings for the future. I really love the organic best. They come out tasting so good.
Thanks again for the soil mixes. Super great information that I will be trying in the future. Here is a picture of one of the clones growing in the Coast of Maine soil. Yes there is a little heat stress going on. I had to add better airflow to my veg room.

Very nice looking clones!

And I'm always glad to help. Growing great weed organically is very rewarding and its simplicity makes life more enjoyable!

Thank you! I just attached a screen to the new clones yesterday. My second screen looks a lot more sturdy then the last one I built.

And sorry if I seemed to have come on a bit strong, I've spent three days trying to help a bottle nute junkie straighten out his problems and he's thicker than a brick...lol! Luckily, he's a friend.
No problem your good. I hope your friends plants are good now. I know I grew hydro before and they come out nothing like organic. The editable's I made with in-organic smoke was salty. Eww!
The last grow house I worked for used all organic and it blew my mind. I will never grow non-organic again. You may not get as much as growing in coco but, you don't have to worry about all the flushing and adding 200 different things. Plus the smoke comes out sooooo good and the oil that was made from the buds was mind blowing.
I too love the K.I.S.S method.

Here we go. Sorry it took so long for an update. I will get more pictures later. This is day 46 and she is looking close to peak potency. I am looking for mostly cloudy since it is an Indica I am ok with not having too many of no amber.
Let me know what you think if this looks close or not. I think it is almost 60 percent milky and the rest are half cloudy.
P8100012.JPG
I am thinking there is about a week left. I would say there are about 70 percent red hairs. Some of the buds are farther along however, I think I am going to wait and harvest her all at the same time.

I am back and have some great news. I did harvest 1 bud on day 46 and found it was a little too early but, I knew that I just wanted to see how close she was getting to peak.
On day 47 I took a couple more and they were much farther along then day 46. It was happening quick.
Here are some pics of day 47.
P8110022.JPG P8110023.JPG
P8110029.JPG
Today which is day 48 I took 15 of the big dark, dank tops and about 75 percent was red with very few white and some yellow and orange.
Sorry I got some pictures before chopping but, they did not come out good.
So after all that chopping and bagging it up I have a total of 131 grams wet from those 15 tops. There are still 25 tops in there somewhere not to include about 6 inches of bud that was under the 15 tops. I only cut the very top.
I have 5 more days until I move so I hoping to get the lower bits more mature in that time.

I figure I chopped about 1/3 of the plant so far. With a 75% loss of water weight the 131 grams should be around 32 grams dry. Wow! If you calculate loosing a 3rd of the weight it is more like 43 grams so I am hoping for somewhere in between. It does vary from plant to plant but, the bud looks really solid for what that is worth. A lot in my book. I am not really after a lot of weight. I know that sounds weird because, I do like a more medicine however, I have been smoking degraded CBN weed for years and until I tried some that was cut right at peak I had now idea how much better it could be.

If you wait for the calyx to completely blow out then you have gone past peak. I was seeing a lot of amber which by the way is yellow not red. I have been taking a couple or more buds just about every day to see what is the best time to harvest this plant since I have 4 clones and 2 are in a SCROG and ready to flower.

So for anyone that is growing mother of berry I hope this journal will come in handy for you. Yes you can get more bud out of her but, you are risking going beyond the peak. Mother of Berry already makes you sleepy so it does not need to have degraded THC.
Another note to my fellow growers is that I could literally smell when she was getting ready. The smell got very strong all of a sudden. As I said before I have grown a far amount of this strain and I never smelled this. The guy I worked for insisted on leaving them growing until there was about 50 or more % amber. Well I could smell the plants before they went to far and then the good smell went away. When they were finally chopped and dried they had no smell and did not give you the greatest buzz.

So let there be another way to determine when your plants are at there peak. Our sense of smell is one of the most keen senses we posses and some people as you know have very sensitive noses like me. For example; I once saved my platoon in the Army because, I woke up smelling burning wires. Sure enough the generator cable was melting and about to set the tent on fire.
Thank you God for my great nose. I know I am not the only one who can smell the ingredients in cooking. wine connoisseur's can smell the different tannin's and let you know what kind of barrel it was brewed in.

So I am curious as to how many here have a great nose like this? If so can you smell when your cannabis is getting stronger? If so have you ever grown your plant too long and noticed the smell going away?

When the THC starts to degrade more and more the smell will go and the flavor. OK I am done know, not that anyone will read this entire post but, if you do enjoy and happy growing.
Oh BTW: All organic, bug free, disease free cannabis is the best when you grew it. All that work is now paying off.

Well all the trimming is finally done. It only took me 3 days. Total wet weight is 333 grams so maybe 111 grams dry. Either way I am super happy with Mars Hydro. Mars 300 LED helped me grow about a quarter pound. Wow! That is not including all the wonderful trim I got from her that I will be dry sifting for some yummy hash.
The nuggets were very tight and hard as a rock I love it! I know now that I overgrew her big time. There was a lot of stuff I could have taken off. There was a lot of growth that was pail yellow but, it was still bud just not so hard.
For the next grow that will be flowering in another week I will make sure to only keep about the top 8" of growth. The light stayed about 12" from the time she was flowering. Some of the growth was even within 8" of the light and did not get burned.
I have definitely learned a lot from this grow. Can't wait to see how my new plants turn out. I have 2 of the clones from this mom and they are growing like crazy. Almost filled the SCROG already. I will have an additional 100 watts of CFL lighting for the next grow. Hoping to get about a half pound or so.
Happy growing everyone. I will be posting some finished bud pics soon. Until then here is a bud that is dry and just went into the jar today with Boveda.P8140048.JPG
