Mouldy Query

im also skint for a couple of months so cant buy any more things really. I will dry the fuck out of them pre-harvest by thristing them until they wilt, then 48h darkness......chop and dry them as fast as possible (I can rectify any taste issues during the cure).

Why 48 of darkness? Too long and good an opportunity for the mold/mould. I don't know what you expect after the first 4-8 hours of darkness.

I think in the end you will decide you have an issue with how your venting is setup. Either that or that you need a dehumidifier. Where do you intake air from, where do you exhaust air to, and at what rate (Cubic ft/meter hour/minute?)

It may not cost you anything if you find a simple design issue in venting and can just hook up differently.

Small 60x60x140 with 4 autos. The can and fan are way more than the minimum recomendations (FFS after my shit spelling and colourful speech from BOB im in no place to argue Americanisms) for the size. Can fitted to fan and duct-taped, negative pressure in tent, ducting fed out of the hole and taped.

I think this is the issue, you hit the nail bang schmack on the head. The house has mold issues, I recon i can get away with my drying buds if Im a Jedi about it. If I can quick-ish dry them in the tent for 4-5 days without mold growing on the outside of the buds, once they are in the jars, it should be OK

Are you exhausting to the same room as your intake? If so, bingo that is your fatal flaw. Ducting must exhaust air either outdoors or to a room where the air will have to flow a ways to find it's way back to the grow room. If you have mold/mould issues in the house, you would be hugely benifited by recirculating the homes air through a hepa, even a cheap $10 hepa replacement filter you jerry rig up.

Bingo! I'll keep he window open as much as possible but its forecast at -3 degrees tonight! (LOL yes celcius LOL)

Ultimately yes the house needs sorting proper with dehumidifiers after a good air purifying. (What about those negative ion producing air purifiers, would charging the air particles kill the spores?

dont forget that the mold was already here when I moved in, only a tiny bit on the window and a black spot on a wall I keep wiping away

I think the good ones actually use UVC or UVB bulbs inside the purifier. UVC is a wonderful killer, even of our cells and plant cells. Great for purifier, never want to be exposed or have plants exposed.

Other side of the drywall or plaster will look much worse than the painted side.

None at all?!? The other side is really cold almost outside temps and full of absorbant insulation and the air is noticably .......dry? Considering ive never noticed air being dry before, I think this room has a huge humidity problem. If the room was closed and lights off for a month with zero ventilation that could be the initial cause of the window and wall mold.

Oh Oh, magic powers filling my marbles!!!! (ideas to the laymen)

I could just dry them in there and hope the smell doesnt stink out the neighbours bedrooms through the attic spaces. Hmmmmm

Its superdry, airy and has constant cool breeze and is dark, downside is it will range from 5-15 degrees?????????? It will reek for a few days tho

Sounds to me like you need to make an intake from there and adjust fan speed to keep temps and exhaust outdoors for growing. For drying you can do the same but use a space heater in place of the lights. After the bleach and anti-fungal the lower RH and reasonable temp is all you need.

Thank you for your comment and help folks, appreciated.
If I stay here for another round of autos I will get my intake/exhaust sorted.

(1st indoor growtent grow) It seems no matter how much u plan, a beginner is going to run into issues by rule of averages.

If there is anything to give back......... Mephisto Genetics 24 carat auto..........HOLY BLOODY HELL!!!!!

Masterpeice! I bought it cuz the breeder description sold me and Id never heard of it before, there claims are not exagerated, never grown or seen a plant this lush before. It doesnt have a stem.........it has a TRUNK, leaves the size of dinner plates? Yup well >8" span.

I is a mega BUSH, its under a ft tall and about 2.5 ft wide, done a little simple fan leaf tucking onl and it has 7 cola sites all at same height in its canopy. Its twice the size of my 2nd biggest and bushier than anything Ive grown outdoor or in a cupboard conversion before. Hope the smoke is peng-shizzle, well Mephisto havnt been lying so far.

(mould not the blue or black stuff, its grey and hasnt got worse. Only in the airpot holes, maybe its the air-pruned roots dying and necrotic cells are harbouring friendly mould? Oh well I'll keep you posted. (maybe some pics too)

Before the seeds are all sold out you should defo get at least 1 just to see how it compares to ur bushiest indicas for an experiment, otherwise get a 5 pack look at the bud pics. http://www.mephistogenetics.com/24 carat.html

its grey mold. Not black. It came from outside the growtent, mold on window cills when I moved in, not too bad just a little.

Only on media surface not the tent or the plants or the floor. Its not hurting the plants right now, but like Nomo said, as soon as I chop them and the hardy auto mold resistance enzymes will all stop fighting the mold and it will cover my lovely drying buds :-(
get a fan on them they will be fine mold cant grow were there's good air movment

Thanks Bob, failure is NOT an option!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(btw if ur near S-Yorks or up North anytime and fancy trading seeds, clones or buds and have a mild twiff or 3 then game on)

I wont have seeds or clones yet, need to buy a second grow room 1st. Unless the mould wins (it wont) I'll have a delightful selection of Pinapple express, Black cream, 24 carat and Blue dream autos to sample. And some Kif :-)
