MTN GearSmith Hyrdoponics Carbon Filter

I've been checking around online for a couple weeks surrounding inline fan / carbon filter setups. I came across this maker called MTN GearSmith Hydroponics. They ship out of California, which is a great place for Medical Cannabis. They seem pretty legit. Anyone have any reviews or feedback on their products?

I have one of those ebay filters. Not 8" though, mine is 4" have had it for over a year and it still works like new. Never had any issues with it, that is until I open the tent.

Do it. I bought all my stuff from ebay. No issues at all. Except for the fan bearings went bad but that's my fault for having the light run over the air first. Basically cooked the grease out of the fan bearings.

If I need to change the filter when it's life expectancy is up, do I gotta buy a whole new thing, or just a filter?

^ new thing im afraid ... some shops can refill them with the activated charcoal which is 'packed' or compressed down. Some CF are sealed so can't be opened.

$150-200 for 12-18 months isn't to bad to beat the smell.

Any residual odour can be treated with ONA GEL. ... Actually, Ive just posted a simple recipe for 'Home made Ona' on the W.O.H thread with info on terpenes.

Not yet, still debating...

Its a lot of dough to splash out, especially when you're new and not 100% convinced you'll get the bomb weed at the end of it.

You're correct to be cautious, I made some dud purchases when I started. cool tubes etc.

Maybe consider T5 lighting or Fluorescent, just to get your feet wet. They'll still be good to use when you step up as you'll still need them for cloning and keeping Moms?

Whatever you decide, you got a lot of people here to help you improve and Im sure your weed will come out dank.
