Multi Strain Indoor Low Tech

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have just successfully grown two beautiful Indica of unrecorded identity. I suspect one to have been Amsterdam Genetics Choco Kush Auto. I don't know whether it was an anomaly or if I have a secret to unleash about placing plants in stasis. I write this bit of intro because my recent experience has granted me confidence that I can yield enough to use my hobby to help my old lady with almost guaranteed success providing relief from pain and stress. As it happens, the grow was good for my own stress even without using the medicine within the bud. I started my plants under a cheap 2-tube 4 ft. T8 utility shelf fixture using cheap 6500K fluorescent tubes. They did well in vermiculite. When they were suitably under way, I moved them to black, 4 gallon square pails with lids cut to accept a 4 inch net cup each filled with clay pellets. I moved them into a converted single door refrigerator that was customized to provide up to 20 standard LED bulbs with the domes popped off. I used 6 5000K and 4 2700K Great Value 100-watt-equivalent LEDs shining through 1 7/8 inch holes evenly spaced on the top of the fridge so that the heat sink were not within the cabinet. The plants promptly ceased progression toward maturity. The auto even halted its timer. I suspect that the photons received were of very little use to the plants. As soon as I placed them under a 6-tube T8 high-bay (which I barely placed high enough to clear the plants), they took off like weeds. The only thing I am going to take as gospel from this is that with a decent light source, air movement and proper feeding, Not much can keep cannabis from growing well indoors in the winter. All I used are the Grow and Bloom formulas from Dyna-Gro. I didn't drain the Grow. I just started refilling to the regular level with Bloom as the plants used what they wanted. No adjustment to PH other than what the nutes did to the tap water.

Now to the Good stuff. I'm starting an organized grow and hoping I keep good records. I've placed one each of:
1 - Barney's Farm 8 Ball Kush
2 - Barney's Farm Red Diesel
1 - Barney's Farm Red Dragon
1 - DinaFem White Siberian
into 5 2-inch net cups filled with vermiculite to keep the roots in the dark. The water used to moisten the medium is PH 5.9 to provide a little push to the germination. These will be placed under a single 6-tube T8 high-bay fixture using 6500K High Output tubes. After the tallest is at least 18 inches, I'll add my second fixture and position them like a gable roof with a 3:12 pitch. This time I will attempt to maintain PH around 6.3. No doubt I will slack a time or three but the plants will be okay. I'll upload pics as the seeds produce seedlings. Thanks for all that you have shared with me and I hope this grow will show just how basic a setup can be and still let a newbie take home the green.

Might as well stop reading anything that looks like a journal from me for a while. I'll grow but being organized isn't a strong point for me. Sorry. Oh, The white Siberian went home with Sherry's ex. It was the best of the 5. I didn't do well transplanting most of them into hydro due to short roots at the time of moving. The 8-Ball Kush was doing okay Sunday when I hit the road. I'll be home tomorrow afternoon to check them out.
