Mutated Cannabis- Evolution at work

I am just amazed at how many mutant cannabis strains I have been finding. The duckfoot strain, which has leaves that are webbed, and another one out of Australia that has leaves that are not serrated and are smaller and smoother. It is called the ABC. There was also another one out of Australia that grew in a vine-like way bred by a fellow named FET who apparently took two onto a plane and went through customs with them and got by fine because the plants look nothing like ordinary cannabis.

I want to start this thread for these mutated strains that could be the future of growing due to their valuable genetics. They seemed to disappear from the world in the last three years and I want to see a comeback!

Ouch. Haha. But does anyone know what happened to these plants? WallyDuck was the person who made the duckfoot genotype a dominate trait back in the early 2000s. Then he just disappeared. Was he busted or something?

I don't know that those are mutations, rather than years of selective breeding for those specific traits. try breeding your own plants for certain traits that you like.

This is what the original breeder of ducksfoot had to say back in 08:
i first began work on the ducksfoot not only because of the weird leaf shape .. but the stench and stoned was lovely ... the original plants were so tasty ,, u could lick your lips and still taste it quite a while afterwards ..
and it gave such a pleasent happy stoned ...
i recently grew a batch that was available on the net , and have to say honestly they didnt represent the strain as i would like ... perhaps something has been lost along the way .. as i mentioned it wasnt just the webbed leaves that make ducksfoot ,..
limited resources for keeping parent stock and getting busted really put the brakes on my dabbling with cannabis breeding ... but im still doing what i can as i am also a grower and i need good seeds to grow out ..

I dont even think they were bred that way, they were found in the australian outback. People crossed them with normal plants to get potency as well as the desired traits.

If a breeder could take two different genera of plants, one being cannabis and then another plant that could be successfully interbred with cannabis they could arrive at an intergeneric hybrid that technically is not cannabis. Thereby sidestepping the law on growing, smoking, selling etc. It takes a lot of time for gov't regulators and lawmakers to catch up.
Intergeneric hybrids do not occur in nature. A monkey and a giraffe can not breed. But in a lab almost anything is possible anymore.
In the plant kingdom there are only a few intergeneric hybrids. One being the Leyland Cypress. An intergeneric hybrid is always labeled with an x as the first part of its Latin name as in x Cupressocyparis leylandii (Leyland cypress)
You bring up some interesting ideas worth following up on. I am not a geneticist but mb some young geek stoner might follow up on it

As I said before, these are cannabis plants, they have just evolved and became adapted to the harsh environments of australia and have just recently been discovered. Its like the runderalis, which was just normal hemp plants that adapted to the cold eastern european environment, and was bred with more potent indica and sativa plants to get the autoflowing trait as well as potency.

wow, that looks pretty cool. Ive never come across anything that looked quite like that and i live in australia myself. Id Love to try and get ahold of that ducksfoot and Try growing it out in public view . Atm i Stick to afgani types as they seem to cope with our blisstering hot summer days well

Live anywhere near the blue mountains/Sydney? Apparently that's the home of some of oz's other rare variants (albeit in ditchweed form)

unfortunatly Im In Brisy or i would have been up for that for sure, I used to live near nibin so i used to see some pretty cool outdoor specices, but in brisy the only thing your likly to see is a dried half dead weed looking thing. (not mine of course)
