My 420 Calculator

I did something neat today. I designed a multi-brand nutrient calculator.

Several GH Flora Nute, Botanicare, Foxfarm, and BC Nutrient formulations are available for your pleasure. More brands coming soon.

Being a computer science major as well as a stoner, it would only be a matter of time before I would design my first piece of software for marijuana growing.

I call it my Totally Awesome 420 Calculator <<<link :bigjoint:

Choose your nutrient brand/formulation, enter in the number of gallons in your rez, # weeks you plan to veg and bloom.

Viola! A recipe.

Your input/ criticism is welcome!

wish I wasn't on my phone right now.

would this work for soil grows? If you replace "res size" with the number of gallons of food you'd be mixing?

Yeah, the same for soil, too.

If you are gardening with soil, I recommend the Foxfarm or Botanicare Formulations. The GH Flora Nova Drain to waste program is good too.

Clarification: Enter the amount of water you want to mix the nutes with-- it's the same number for soil as it is for hydro.

So if you're only mixing five gallons of nutes for soil, enter "5".

5 gallon rez? Enter 5. OK?

Any questions/criticism welcome

yeah, i added a week of flushing to a few brands.

I was more concerned about making sure the calculations were spot on, which they are.

More features, nicer layout next version

I tried it but since i use ro water I have to add cal/mag,you have to add that as an option for it to calculate correctly for those who use ro water............other than that props on the software....will be handy once you get everything worked out...

Yeah- Cal Mag was something I intentionally skipped over, then forgot about. I was stoned when I made this. Adding Cal-Mag should a pretty easy value to add to the Botanicare recipes, however.

That'll definitely be added next version.

Now I have a question for you:

Should I bother with AN advanced nutes? AN has a pretty decent calc, but not a week by week like mine.....

WELL,

what brands do you use? There are only so many, most of which I have heard about, at the very least.

Are they using some kinda wierd juju brand up there in England?

As a sidenote, I should probably add imperial to metric unit conversion next version. Another simple modification.

Hmm well we've got Canna and BioCanna, Biobizz, Vitalink for a few of the popular ones, otherwise there is like Miracle Grow and all your other normal generic type ones :D
A lot of the stuff we get in comes from Amsterdam :D

That 5hit- what would you name the calculator? Also, few people follow the instructions on the sides of the nutrient bottles, in most cases, unless they want a bunch of dead plants.

sensisenai- you only got micro and bloom because you went with the lucas formula. There are several other nutrient combinations. Try a different brand/formulation.

Johnny12r- I've use advanced nutrient A+B before, so I'd probably include that formulation in the next version. Advanced Nutrients calculator is pretty darn awesome, though-

in fact that's what inspired this app, because the other brands are lacking decent instructions.
