My Alibaba Strip Lights

I got them from here. Honestly most of them look pretty much the same. I picked them because they promised the fastest shipping.

Check out this product on Alibaba App 660W 720W Dimmable High Power Waterproof Fluence Spydrx Replaced HPS LED Full Spectrum Grow Light With 5 Years Warranty

Finally got these Alibaba lights from China and figured I’d throw up a post in case anyone was curious. I paid a little over $500 per light including shipping for these. Each bar has around 350 lm301and 8 osram reds. They have a dimmer switch and run off of Sonsen drivers. I opted for the 720w model but they have a 660w and a 1000w (I think) too.

They were supposed to show up in one week but got stuck in a warehouse in LA while FedEx dicked around. I got them 14 days after I sent payment. With Covid I expected to wait a month so two weeks was
nice. Without FedEx dropping the ball I would have received them in less than 7 days!

They accidentally sent me a 240v plug so I had to build an adapter from Home Depot stuff. They are sending me the correct cables though.

First impressions are good. The build quality is solid. No sharp edges or anything like that. They were packed well and undamaged during shipping. The box had giant letters on it that said “LED GROW LIGHT” so shipping wasn’t discreet but that doesn’t matter much to me since we are legal here. That may be a concern for some.

The sonsen drivers are built into the fixture and have a dimmer on the body or an RJ45 hookup for a controller. The strips don’t get hot at all nor does the driver case. I plan to run these in a room woth tons of space but keep the plants in a 9x8 footprint. Hopefully we’ll hang them tomorrow.

80w per strip over 350 leds means about .2w per led: this is the way midpowers should be run imo.
good to know. That’s probably why they run nice and cool. I doubt I’m going to need to run these at full power. They dim down to 40% power with the onboard dimmer but i will probably pick up a controller for them. should be plenty of light for my planned space.

I’m going to try and get my hands on a quantum sensor to check their par values.

My new meijius have 3 Samsung’s per row and 2 Osram fir the same price and less wattage?
What power do the Meijius run? They were one of my top picks based on their reputation here but their photos on Alibaba make their lights looks cheap as hell. The pics you took of yours make them look wayyyy better. I’ll probably grab a Meijiu for my veg room rather than another sundopt if only for a hands on comparison.

They are literally identical to yours with a few less diodes it looks like

was just looking at the par maps for the sundopt 660 and the mj660nand they are way off. I will be borrowing my friends quantum sensor this weekend and running the numbers on mine to see just how true they are.

Interesting that the Meijiu claims to put out more power than the sundopt with less watts. I’m trying to track down my buddy who had a quantum sensor as well. Hopefully I can get some real world numbers. If I don’t hear from him I may just buy my own.

The charts I posted are both for 650w lights one meijiu and one sundopt

Just noticed that. Would be interesting to see if they match the claimed numbers.

I can’t get a hold of my buddy with the quantum sensor but if I end up just buying one I’ll post my results too. Can’t decide if it’s worth spending $500 just to find out. I’d rather spend that on another light!

Well considering I said I would post the numbers I get this weekend and it’s only Thursday means you’ll have to wait until this weekend maybe?

id wait for bk78. I realized that my lights were lm281 lights and not the lm301 lights I ordered. The seller is arranging an exchange but it’s gonna be while before I get the actual lights I ordered. They said the forwarder mixed up my lights with another customer order. Would explain why the sent me the wrong AC cable as well.

I’d hold off on ordering anything from this particular vendor until they actually send me what I ordered. I will not vouch for them until they fix their mistake. With that said, I’m still impressed with the lm281 lights. My plants have exploded since i switched them out from the T5 they were under. I wish my buddy with the quantum light sensor would get back to me. I’d be curious to see how these last generation diodes perform and compare them to lm301s.

thanks for the update. so youre going to send urs all the way back to China and them send the lm301s u originally ordered?

II guess ill wait for bks numbers on his lights. I know he vouches for Meijiu and so do i for their QBs but I gotta see the numbers for these strip LED versions. Im going to be replacing my 1000w Gavita DE HPS with LEDs so the LEDs I replace them with has to dish out some serious light while saving power

I was also curious about these lights as they've been mentioned to me.

I’m trying to get them to send me the correct lights before I send these back. I already spent a few grand to get up and running and I’d loose all of my clones if I decided to wait. I doubt it’s going to happen so I may just roll with these and hope to get a partial refund.
The plan now is to veg with them for awhile and probably order some lm301s from another supplier in the future. May do a full run with these first just to see how I do.
As of now I’m waiting to see what alibaba trade assurance can do for me. I tried negotiating on my own with the supplier but didn’t really get anywhere. As soon as I mentioned trade assurance they kinda freaked out though so hopefully Alibaba.com can assist in correcting things.
