My cab in progress.

I had decided to start this hobby, late last year. Had a good time, so I wanted to build a cabinet to host a self contained set-up. I was going to buy a pre-made cab and modify it, but my grandfather was stricken with cancer and on the fifth of february he passed away. It was a very sad thing, so for a while I put off doing the project. He taught me how to use my hands, and how to make things; so in his honor, I decided to go a bit more extreme and hand make a cabinet. It is half done, and is looking great. Gonna post some pictures, enjoy.

Thanks. It's framed with 2x2's and the walls, floor and roof are all 1/2 inch blonde wood.

I have a question, can i set my fan up to directly vent out of the cab? Or do i have to habe ducting?

if you vent into the same room, it will just intake the heated air and just continue to get hotter and leads to heat problems.. unless you got a powerful air conditioner.

I'll monitor it daily. I'll be finishing the build on the cab friday, and will post another pic update. Can't wait to get this bad boy going.

NMJ, what is the size of your cab.

Here's the one I am working on, it is 2.5' X 4' X 6.5'

Was going to make a flower area 30" X 36" and a veg are 30" x 12" but have too many clones. So I will do a SOG using the entire cabinet.

Now I am neither a carpenter or electrician but this is the CFL fixture I built for my ladies.

Good luck on your grow.

Sorry about your Gdad, I lost my favorite Uncle last summer and I know how you are feeling.

Nice job on the cab!

I need to get off my butt and finish mine, but had so many other things going on, garden and completing orders for delivery.
Will finish this week, now the decision on the lighting.

What LED's are you planning on using?

Well, I actually went with the AF-135 from last years area51 series. I got it at the discount price of 550. It put's out a ton of light, more than what I expected it too. I went with the area51 because I have seen quite a few successful grows with their products. So far it's doing a fantastic job, I don't have any of my ventilation set up yet, and the led on full blast with zero air flow in the cab only brought the temperature right next to the led's output vents a cool 90f. So it doesn't get hot at all. Great choice for small area grows like our cabs.

Undecided yet but have been checking out the California Light Works Solarflare 200w.
Will let you know!

Yea, I looked into them too and if it weren't for the fact that I got my a51 on sale I probably would have purchased one of their 200w units.
