my clone never grew roots HELP!

its been 4-5 weeks since the clone was first taken. i cut and dipped it in shultz rooting powder right away. today i went to transplant both plants to bigger pots. they have grown, it is green, and it has grown new branches. so any way when i went to transplant it, it literally just fell out. not a single root attached. i checked in the soil. not a single root in that either. so i dipped it in rooting powder again and put it in the new pot. im lost and havent found anything on it so ive come to you guys.

why is this?

what should i do?

will it live?

should i have cut the end before dipping it in root powder?

any help is appreciated

The way that works for me is to only spray for about the first week, after that, I'm relying on the severed end to absord water, and it does. Still keep the soil moist during that first week. The trick is to keep the soil wet enough for the fresh cutting to get water and stay perky. But too much water will suffocate the plant and it'll turn to mush.

Your temps should be about 80. Too cold and they won't root, too warm and the plant will lose moisture faster than it can replace it. It's a very careful balancing act until you get the knack for it. And each strain is different, some are a bitch to get roots out of.

When you prepare the cutting, make sure there's a node in the dirt where you cut off the leaf but leave about quarter inch on the end. Often roots will grow out of this spot. The end of the stem will die off when the roots are ready and acts as a scab. That's all I know about the shit.

i watered them the whole way, the temps are good and never watered them too much, it is still very perky, more so than the one with roots. should i take it out and re cut it and start all over?

I just had some clones take 5 weeks to sprout roots. If they look alive and healthy, I'd keep doing what you're doing. Maybe try rockwool or jiffy pellets as a medium instead of soil. Soil can often take much longer for clones to root in.

it was probably some start of root rot. your stem was dead? Didnt you say you watered the shit out of it? Dont. Keep it in a sealed container with water in it under your light. That'll be plenty of water. That is a very strange situation though.
