My first DWC grow using ScrOg

Whats up RIU. This is my first DWC grow, ive been researching for a while and gathered some very good info from around the froum and online. Im using the screen of green method to maximize my light and grow space. Ive been a soil grower for years and decided to try hydro so well see how it goes! Im only growing one plant until i get a feel for things, so for now i have a Blue Dream Jack clone from a local nursery, 150w hps for now but will put a 400w hps within a couple weeks. Im using a 7.3L dual output air pump with eco grow round air stones, Fox farm nutes all in a 3.5 gal bucket. my grow room is aprox 2'x3' and 3.5'high Im using 4" ducting with a 80cfm inline fan to cool my light and a vortex desktop fan for my intake. The clone has only been in my setup for 2 days so far. I noticed that 500 ppm with a 5.8 PH burned the plant a little so i brought the ppm down to 400 for now. Im finding that DWC nutrient levels are much lower than the FF feeding chart. Wish me luck!

You think you can control temps when you put a 400w in that box? I'm not too sure 80cfm will be enough to move the heat a 400w puts out. but otherwise nice grow.

True that, i forgot to mention that im also running an A/C on a thermostat to keep it around 75-78 degrees. Do you think a 150w hps is enough? Im thinking about trying it.

Rule is 10k lumens per square foot. I grow in a 20x36" tent and with the 400w hps i'm JUST at 10k per sq ft.

yea, thats what i thought. All i have at the moment is this 150 and 1000w hps. Thanks for the info. Any pics of your grow?

Yea, it's in my signature. Current grow is the tent. First was all cfl in a homemade box. Do you have a 1000w ballast?

On the first grow there is no pics. The tent setup is nice though, im looking into them now. Yea i have 3 1000w setups from my last grow but they put out SO much heat and for this space i would have to get a cool tube reflector like yours and a bigger exhaust fan.

pics start on page 3 on the first grow. I was a noob and uploaded them to photobucket but never rehosted them to here. You should get a tent like mine. It was 80 bucks off ebay.

very nice, and well documented. 80 bucks? Thats super cheap, ill be getting one soon. Probably one big enough to run the 1000w lights. How was that bubblicious smoke? I see clones at the local dispensary all the time.

It was pretty good I didn't flower either as long as they should. Nice first time strains.

Right on, yea I usually wait till all the trichs are cloudy and amber and mushroom shaped ready to burst before I harvest. I thought about what you said about the 10k lumens per sq foot and your right, I changed my box today to a 16" square today hoping for better results. It's also a lot easier to keep it cool now that the space is so small. Thx for the info.

Day 4
I see my first root coming in! I changed my box to a 16" square because im only running a 150w hps (16,000 lumens) Im getting a little nute burn so i adjusted from 350ppm to 175ppm PH is still at 5.8 +/- .02 Using fox farm Big bloom,Grow big a little microbe brew and 2 drops of sledgehammer. I also added another 4" inline fan to cool my light and its working great, keeping the room at 75-80 degrees and the res water at 70 degrees. Im making a smaller screen for the box today. Again, this is my first DWC grow so im still trying to dial in the feeding schedule, any suggestions are much appreciated.
