my first grow and i dont know what the hell im doing

best advice i can give.

1. dont tell anyone. that means your girl, your brother, jesus, or the devil.
2. keep tab on your ph, 6-6.5 is what you wanna shoot for with soil.
3. NO LIGHT LEAKS. in or out. in will cause hermis out will catch notice.
4. if your using cls keep them close 3 inches or so is fine.
5. tell no one....

these simple rules will get you off to a swell start.

i can't mod my closet but it's 3' high not 2. is that enough?

Ok i as well am in the same boat as you on a paper thin budget. I am a first time grower my self and i started 14 seedlings from bag seeds for my first grow im using cfl's only going to through the whole thing, Since your on a budget its a lot easier to spend a little bit as you go instead of everything at once. 1st things you need pots.... very easy go get a can of flat black spray paint cut a 2 liter pop bottle in half take the label off and paint it black " Pots cant be clear i just learned that my self it can cause the roots to rot and bad stuff to happen" So repeat that for how many ever post you need. Next that led pannel will just get in the way and do more harm than good most likely. Go to walmart on line you can get a 4 pack of 26w cfl' for 19$ "THEY NEED TO BE DAY LIGHT OR 6500K NOT SOFT WHITE" soft white bulbs are what u will need to get latter on for flowering they range 2700k-3000k spectrum. Next get your self 2 Y light socket splitters pick them up in any walmart or home depo heres a tip " Home depo has em for $2.47 screw em together and 90% of the time the cashier will only ring one up so if that happens bonus !" so once you have your 2 Y splitters i picked up a cool little guy at walmart for a 1.77 that plugs right into a wall socket and has where u can screw a light bulb into it. Once again you will need 2 of them as well, now what i did is i pluged the base pice into a cheap brown extension cord " you can get them at any dollar tree or dollar castle" screwed the y socked in and tape the base around the cord you dont want it coming unpluged hanging above your girls. I attached 2 pics to show the Plug and base which is the 1st pic and they are #1 light and #4 light that i have set up that way, the second pic shows the Y splitter. Now next guy as for mylar i couldnt afford it so the dollar store here we come... At the dollar store they sell those Sun reflectors that you put in your car windshield believe it or not they are actually made of .5mill mylar not very thick but there big and only a 1$ i think i got 6 of em. As for the Carbon filter you really ar not going to need that for a bit i would get a nice little fan for in there 1st they are not really gonna start to smell for some time so i would hold off and i there is a nice lil forum on here some where which tells you how to make a carbon filter from a furnace filter. Well i think thats about all i can think of right now o a power strip my dollar store here has them but if not home depo has em for $3 also a thermometer another dollar store item. So i hope this helps ya out bro.

PS: if ya wanna order seeds attitude has a much better reputation and for budget strains check out the KC brains strains usually 10 seed packs for 20$.

rather than fuck with those, i recommend proper mylar from htgsupply. fairly cheap and proper. quick shipping. carefull hanging it its a little... tricky, dont use spray adhesive, double sided tape works much better.

it's exactly 3' 7" high so i figure with the lights installed I'll have about 3'

if you only got 3' to grow plants i suggest you lst' them, basically you can control how high and in which direction your plant grows, im sure theres a few threads here that explain it

lol i'm glad it's hot without my smoke(all my funds are going towards this grow) i'm very easily agitated and have very little patience and if i had to wait much longer for replies it would not work out well for me as i would probably abandon getting help and fuck up my grow lol

This is what i would do with your space.

Cover walls, floor, and celing with panda plastic(black and white)
Fuck that led p.o.s
Use it for veg(24hr light) maybe
Be a mans man and get a 400watt hps light.
You need to make a hole for exaust and one for intake,
Don't make your own carbon filter. It will suck
One thing I allways say to people first starting is that you can't even realise how much they will stink till you've flowered plants.
Theres no point in doing this if your not "DOIN THIS"

this is just a sorta "test" grow so i can learn and get a feel for it so to speak. for my next grow i will have more space, more money, and i will do it all right but untill then i'm stuck with a paper thin budget and i'm just going for it. all this is meant to be is a learning experience that will hopefully result in some good smoke and not total failure

Depending on the LED pannel you have, Im kinda guessing its not all that great, but they do work, well from the tech spec of it....just depends on how much POWER you have.....and well more indepth..do u know where he got it from?

yea you have enough height. my outdoor plant is 3 feet. so i think you are good. juss do it and see what happens that is realy all you can do. i say do 1. thats what im doing. 1 month later you will c if shes a girl. juss do 1 bro. then you have plenty of space. you realy dont want to crowd them so i say do one. if its a male. who cares you have 9 more trys right? take the chance enough said. =]

no Leetneo i don't know where he got it from but i'm pretty sure it was from ebay lol he bought it and was going to do what i plan on doing but then he came into some cash and bought a hps so now he's vegging with cfl's and is going to flower with hps (lucky bastard lol) and so when i told him i was going to grow he said to take the pos led panel cuz he didn't need it lol and i never turn down free shit

ok tomorrow is shopping day and I'll be back with more info, pics, and probably a whole hell of a lot more questions lol.

by the looks of things id say you could grow like 4 plants in there, you have more space than your giving yourself credit for

those emergency blankets are coated in mylar, dirt cheap and easier to find than sheets of mylar. if you cant find either, that foil wraping paper is mylar too

you will notice a male long before you run the risk of pollinating your plants. only way this could happen is if you dont look at you plant for a week, but then it would probably die anyways

grow one plant or two, it dosnt matter to me really. i think you have plenty of space, your spending your smoke money on going all out on the set up and doing alot of work and research on growing. just think about how much it would suck if all your effort went into raising a male, or you kill it some how, or you break the stem practicing lst

i made my diy carbon filter and i'm going to put a computer fan on it but which way do i want to make the fan blow? should i put the fan on the filter so its sucking air through the filter and then blowing out the filtered air, or so that the fan is sucking in air and blowing it through the filter?

ok today i went to the store and got some supplies and then i did some constructing lol. anyway i got all the supplies that i got put together and i ended up using tin foil instead of mylar because i didn't have enough money for mylar i know its bad cuz it creats hotspots but oh well whats done is done. my cameras dead so tomorrow after it charges i'll post some pics and list the supplies, what i did ect ect and get some comments and ideas from you guys. dont be too harsh lol.
