My setup includes;
-Feminized Easy Ryder seeds (Lowryder#2 x AK47)
-Gutted PC case with some reflective material blocking the light holes. I will be adding mylar today, maybe tomorrow if I get lazy. It has two intake and two exhaust PC fans and an internal temperature gauge.
-(4) 23W CFL lamps. They are currently daylight color and will switch when they start to flower. They will be operating 20 on 4 off for the entire grow.
-A tupperware like container covered by reflective tape for the reservoir w/ a five inch air stone
-rapid rooter and clay pellets
-Distilled water
-Fox Farm Grow Big for Hydro and Tiger Bloom
I started my grow the morning of 11/7 when I dropped two feminized Easy Ryder seeds into a glass of water. That night I removed them from the water and place them in rapid rooter cubes which also went into it's permanent home in the DWC setup inside of the PC case. I turned the lights on for extra heat, left the fans off, and the water pumping. I covered the tops of the grow medium with a dome to block the light and keep the huimidity high. I did not check on them for about 32 hours but when I did they had already broken ground. A day later the cotyledon was fully formed. They went from dry seed to cotyledon in less than 72 hours. Is it just me or is that pretty fast?
Two days after the cotyledon was fully grown I removed the dome and brought the plants to within four inches of the light.
One week after placing them in there new home I changed out the reservoir water and included one teaspoon of grow big. A couple of days later I noticed some brown substance in the water which was attaching to the roots that were near the water, but I assumed it was the nutrients. I also noticed that the lid was allowing tons of light to penetrate into the reservoir so I covered it in reflective tape to block out the light. The next day the brown substance was gone and my roots were all white? I'm thinking maybe the brown stuff was some sort of algae due to the light getting through the lid and once the light was cut off it died off?
The four pictures attached are where she sits today, two weeks after dropping the seeds into water.
