My first personal grow but not my first time growing.

Hey all, been following these forums for years and with my states recent legalization I'm ready to start my own personal grow (for myself and friends/family).

I've helped out with some friends grows but nothing outside of what I already do at work.
Which is very minimal such as cloning, transplanting, premixed foliar spray and pesticides, our feedings are all automated, full harvest process. Outside of that I'm technically a newbie as I have research done but never gone through the whole process myself.

My setup is a 5x10 tent split in half in my garage, 5x5 for flower 5x5 for veg and clones.

The flower room has an air cooled 1000w HPS hooked to a 6 inch fan that runs at full speed and pulls in cold air, the HPS will only run at night to keep Temps cool in summer and warmer in winter. (Id like to minimize the use of heaters and AC, even though I have a heater running right now as the flower tent is inactive) it has a cloudline T6 for temp control/exhaust and a couple fans for air circulation.

Veg room is a mars hydro tsw2000 (I'm only really vegging in 16sqft) and CFL hood for clones that I'm not hooking up till the HPS is running for extra warmth. The flower room vents the T6 into the veg room for added heat/ airflow, a cheapo inline fan with a filter just for some added air circulation and smell elimination and, there's a little clip on fan that sits at canopy level.

In the winter I may switch this up a bit and pull out the fan venting the HPS and hook the carbon filter and T6 to the HPS to vent into the veg room for added heat if Temps start to drop.

I'm using just straight coco as it's what I'm used to at work and see no benefit really to adding perlite, if I have problems I'll adjust when transplanting to flower.

I personally am a fan of General hydroponics flora line, with added supplements (silica, calmag, floralicious +, and florablend) recharge for bennies ofc (and my friend has great results using it for transplanting.)
I think I've devised a good feeding schedule for it that I'll share as a picture with my wonderfully sloppy handwriting.
I'll be using the floralicous as a foliar spray in veg and mixing into the solution for flower.
Neem oil and mint soap for pest control in veg I'd rather not spray anything in flower if I don't have to.

I'll be transplanting from rapid rooters in a covered tray to some dollar store half gallon pots (and solo cups for a little experiment/ I want to take a whack at the solo cup challenge)
Then into 3 gallon pots either at flower or a couple weeks before depending on strain and size.

As for right now I'm just running some bag seed to dial everything in for the first grow/ get some solid clones, maybe play around with breeding the random strains. (I'll just use the seedy bud to make concentrates, and try to pollinate towards the end of flower)

Yields not a big factor for me as this is all just for experimentation at the moment but I wouldn't mind pushing for a pound.

I know it's asked to not comment on others grow journals but I would appreciate any feedback with this grow as I would like to learn to be a better grower for myself and my career.

I also added a photo of my first sprouts because I'm so proud of them.
Happy to finally contribute to the community.

Week 2
Left humidifier running on a humid day after after introducing some nutes(I know but this is all for experiments anyway) and a transplant so they go hit pretty hard but are bouncing back nicely. Added some recharge after transplant and a misting of recharge water on the soil(and unfortunately some leaves, again all experiments and pheno hunting rn so not too worried)

Staring week 3 and while I was committed to my nutrient schedule, just having a kid makes it hard to get to the plant kids for longer amounts of time so starting this week we're switching to the Lucas/ H3ad (6-9) formula with calmag instead of Epsom salts and I'll keep up on the silica and use koolbloom come flower but this will be a lot easier to manage on limited time.
I'll update with photos when I get the chance but for those with limited lifestyles take everyone who's uses the Lucas formulas advice. (If synthetics is your jam. I'll probably run an organic coco mix next grow myself just looking to have more immediate control over this grow.)

I basically have the whole 10 part GH line and let me tell you boy do I regret those purchases lol.

So i forgot to add those pictures and decided to do a 2 week veg on some solo cups.
Switched to Lucas/h3ad 6/9 formula and honestly it's really solid. I still use silica and calmag. Floralicous + as a foliar once a week. As well as recharge once a week.

I don't really water to run off as I have time to check up on plants often atm and they seem to be enjoying the constant light watering/feeding.
1ml silica
2ml climatic
6ml Flora Micro
9ml Flora bloom
Going to introduce Yuka root powder into the nutrient mix as a wetting agent when this current sprayer is emptied.

Those 3 plants starting their 12/12 will be staying in the solo cups no I do not care about how they turn out I'm hoping and doing my best to grow them to be quality buds but I know my limits with the situation and my experience.

By the end of this week those 3 bigger plants in veg are going to be transplanted into 3gal pots if their roots and themselves are healthy.

I got some assorted bag seed this time to play around with (these guys you see growing are all the same strain I just don't know what strain)

May try some novice breeding with the random strains I have I always really wanted to.

So we had some problems and are now back in action.
Ran into electrical issues should of checked what was on the breaker before setting up the grow.
No longer running out of the 5x10 we now have a 3x3 and a 4x4 running in the basement with a Mars hydro tsw 2000 in the 3x3 and a 600w HPS in the 4x4 with some 50w COB LEDs for added UV.
Running Lucas H3ad for coco 6/9 PH 5.8 still adjusting for flower with 3micro 6bloom and 3 liquid cool bloom starting next week cutting micro all together.
We still plan to outfit the 5x10 with LEDs just taking it easy for now regaining some money to properly outfit the electrical to handle the load and not cheap out on lights. Plus want to be able to properly run a large dehumidifier down in the basement before running out of something as large as a 5x10.

We are in week 3 of flower and week 5 of veg the plants had a real rough couple weeks and am going to have to transplant and reveg the weird stalk like plant.
