My First Sea Of Green!

Hey everyone! First off I will say please feel free to post in this thread once I have said so.

I've been keeping a photo journal of my grow for a while so I'm going to post some pictures of the progress thus far, and then I'm open to everyone's feedback!

Here's what I grow with:

Lights
-2' 4-lamp SylverStar T5 fixture from HTGSupply (for veg)
-250w HPS from HTG Supply (for flowering)

Soil
-80/20 mix of Foxfarms Ocean Forest and Perlite

Nutrients
-Advanced Nutrients

  • Micro,Grow,Bloom
  • Mother Earth Tea Grow & Bloom
  • Sweat Leaf
  • Mama Enggy's H-2 Humic Acid
  • Very High Output (VHO) Foliar Spray
  • Final Phase
Current Strains
-Big Bang Feminized from Green House Seeds
-Blueberry Skunk Feminized from Flying Dutchman.

I do follow the Advanced Nutrients charts pretty closely and have never had a plant suffer from nutrient burn or noticeable deficiency. I am definitely satisfied with Advanced Nutrients so far, and would like to try them in a hydro setup one day.

Now, here's pictures of the bud I'm smoking from my first harvest (which was only 20 grams), and then I'll get to the real grow. :eyesmoke:

Here are my Big Bang plants during Week 5 of vegetative growth. I started taking pictures a little late, I know.
I planted a Blueberry Skunk seed around the same time, so that's what the empty pot is.

Here are some pictures from Week 6 of flowering. If anyone was wondering, I veg and flower for 8 weeks each because I've got two crops going at once.

Very successful FIM going on in picture 1. Six new growths with one cut.

I was out of town for Week 7 and had my girl take care of the plants, but when I got back I harvested the last batch and put these into flowering.

Here they are a few days into Week 1 of flowering as they all started showing their female traits. :weed:

Here's week 2 of flowering. It's really starting to become a sea of green! Buds are popping up like crazy.

Conditions are pretty good, when I took these pictures it was 30% humidity and 78 degrees. It used to be hotter but I improved the efficiency of my cooling by blowing the exhaust directly out of my closet and creating less bends in the A/C/intake duct.

And here is their current status as of this post.

A few days into Week 3 of flowering and healthy buds are popping out all over! Every day I open my tent and giggle at how much they grew overnight.

It is now okay for everyone to post in this thread!

The ladies are starting to look pretty nice, I figure the one Blueberry Skunk plant is about a week behind the 3 Big Bang plants. The Blueberry Skunk is in the last picture.

Today I bought some Advanced Nutrients CarboLoad to get some extra weight out of my buds. Hopefully I'll notice them fattening up even more. It is about that time where they are growing the fastest after all. Feels good to be almost half way through flowering already

So I was a little disappointed with how slowly the buds were forming, and was concerned that I might not be able to reach my half pound goal to last until next harvest. I didn't want to get another HPS, so I decided to use some LED light to supplement my 250w HPS.

I also started using CarboLoad by Advanced Nutrients which should beef up my buds a bit.

Also, I encountered a little reptilian friend hopping from leaf to leaf on the canopy of my plants and snapped a picture of him. Hopefully he was eating any bugs that decide to come around.

Enjoy this week's pictures!

Disaster struck this evening.

During my nightly hang-out with the plants I took to inspecting them a little bit closer...and on one of the plants there seemed to be an extra bit of growth at a few nodes where there is usually just a single calyx. Upon closer inspection of these growths, I found balls....and *gasp* little bananas. I didn't realize they were so small. It's not worth losing a whole plant and it's probably too late...so it looks like I'll be making some feminized seeds for the future....I tried to tear off all the male parts I could find, but I'm under the impression that once those pollen balls burst into bananas I'm done for...

Anyone still following this?

I harvested this batch and smoked it all already.

No more growing for me. I'm done. Got rid of all my equipment. Too much to worry about. Was nice for a little while though.
