my future grow barrel(pic)...

anyone have any ideas on the best type of lighting i could use in this barrel im making into a grow area or any other suggestions as to ventilation and think i can get more than 1 plant in there? 35"tall 20.5"across and has a removable lid

with cardboard you better go with flouro....your whole house turning to ash over one plant aint worth it.

yea i planned on it...i dont trust any high power light in my house period....cant afford all that....here is a pic of what i have done so far...Total Investment = $0...so far

you should get one more those are really weak and rotate the plant so that it doent try to hug the light(s).your buds will be light and fluffy tho.even with the second light on the opposit side id get a spiral cfl to go thru the lid too.they are weak and you wont even notice a change in your power bill.

heres someone thats full of shit! you can get great bud from flouro tubes if they emit the right light.on the package the tube comes in it will either say soft wight red or blu.fuck soft white,blues good for veg and reds good for flowerin depending on temps and room in your barrel you might want to have as many lights as you can tho cause fleuro tubes are fuckin weak.the man obviosly is growin in stealth or he wouldnt have it in a damn barrel anyways.stealth means he has no fuckin privacy outdo.

hahah...lol..you can grow decent buds with cfr's i dont like em an i use hid but thats cause i got the room...what i recomend is a small scrog set up to utilize all the space an i would go get one of the 125 watt flouros or a small hps lamp then work on ventaltaion...peace

that is not my only light.....i wouldnt try to start a plant with that 1 little light...i have 2-42w cfls and 1-26w cfl also that im putting in there also....installed ventillation last night....2-80mm computer fans...will that be enough?...will post some updated pics later on 2day

a few of them circular fluoros would probably do alright in there for side lighting.

spiral cfls for side lighting will take up alot of room id put them up top and put another fluero on the side.if she gets to tall do you have another barrel to add to it?

nope im gonna limit the height so it doesnt get too tall and i do plan on putting the cfls on top....i did all the wiring today...wired up a 6-outlet plug and everything is coming along slowly but surely...im trying to think of a way to mount the lights up top and still being able to remove the top easily....going to use clamp lights i guess and clamp them to the floro but that means spending $ and i was trying to avoid that as i wanted to build this at zero cost.....any ideas?

I did a grow last year on CFL's only (white widow), definately add them to this setup. Spiral are the most effictiave.

Just recieved some new seeds (T44, NL and AI) and hope to have a similar setup.

gonna put the the bulbs in there soon as this hermie finishes and start my new grow.....anyone know how 2 start a journal?....just need to get the outside painted

that right there looks perfect cant wait to see you start!!!! seriosly tho if your not going to add another side light you should rotate.if this goes swell im gettin a barrel.why didnt you just go with a tubbaware box tho?i like this shape better myself anyways!gives theONE plant plenty of room.but dont forget to trim the lower branches off when you start flowering.or just get more side lighting.
